[DU ARMOUR] Why the M1A1 Abrams with 1st Gen DU armor will be too O.P.

As you know, the M1A1 on War Thunder has been implemented without D.U. armor is Depleted Uranium armor even though modern Abrams today like M1A1SA (Situational Awareness) and M1A2 SEP (System Enhancement Package) to M1A2 SEPv3 have 3rd Gen D.U. Armor

[ARMOR]:
Let's talk about armor. If the M1A1 possesses 1st generation D.U. armor, the turret cheeks' thickness against A.P. will be at least 700mm (minimum) to 750 (maximum) depending on the APFSDS-T's diameter, which no Russian or German gun can't pen at the moment. While the front lower hull glacis will have at least 500-550mm of armor depending on A.P.'s diameter.

[HOW TO PEN 1st GEN D.U. ARMOR]:

RUSSIANS: Russia would have to use 3BM46/48 D.U. penetrator with a pen of 710mm of R.H.A.. This is the last round from the Russian 3BM line that could be used without the use of T-90A and T-14 Armata's new upgraded gun from 2005, 710mm could be used on T-72 up until T-80UM, this penetration value could easily pen the front lower glacis of the Abrams with 500mm thickness, while 50/50 on the turret cheeks.

GERMANS: Currently, Germany will suffer again at this point since L/55 guns have only just started to be implemented on Leopard 2A6, Leopard 2A7 and Leopard 2SGs. The only APFSDS-T Germany could use to pen the Abrams is DM-53, DM-53 if fired from L/44 gun is at 700mm of penetration, DM-53 is still a 50/50 chance of pen, but the front lower glacis of the Abrams is still vulnerable as it is only 500mm. If the DM-53 was fired from an L/55 gun, the penetration value increases dramatically at a penetration of 850mm, which is also equivalent to Abram's 2nd generation depleted uranium armor.

Other information about Abram's D.U. armor:
Abram's 2nd gen D.U. turret cheeks: 850-900mm
Abram's 2nd gen D.U. lower hull glacis: 650-700mm
Abram's 3rd gen D.U. turret cheeks: 1,000mm
Abram's 3rd gen D.U. lower hull glacis: 750mm

Correct these armor values if I'm wrong, but these are mostly from the Deep/Dark websites.

also im pretty sure gaijin isn't done adding tanks since they have added tier 7 so im guessing they will follow this up with more modern tanks e.g the t90 and others

Secret military files are leaking on hidden specific Tor links and if you compare these penetrations and armor values on the common/uncommon websites, they're close to each other, but still, they're not exact as the distributor said at the website that he didn't paid too much money to buy the armor and penetration values of these tank's armors and armor piercings.

nah they might add bmp 3 as a top tier in tier 7 or better yet they might make a tier 8 who knows

Since they are not getting actual blueprints of the tanks, exact penetrations of ammunitions and exact armor of them, it looks like they will ad fictional tanks on rank 9 or 10 with M1A2C or M1A2 SEPv4 even if it's not yet unclassified.

M829's pen should be 590mm, they nerfed it, even M1IP/IPM1 and M1A1's front turret is nerfed for "balanced" battles with as much as possible tanks on the rank and BR.

So ya....much like getting to become Armored Warfare on top tier.

Even if Abrams with DU has 5K mm of armor, it still has MASSIVE turret ring weakspot, it will be balanced.

Well, Russians and Germans on war thunder doesn't even have to aim properly or precisely even without hesitation to shoot the Abrams everywhere, unlike with DU, it'll be like a Churchill MkIV but with a weak spot on the front.

The M1A1(HA) wouldn’t be OP, I argue it would be equal to the T-80U.


The thing is, the DU armour is only mounted on the turret. The hull is still the same thickness (penetrable at standard combat ranges by the 125mm), while the 120mm, even with M829A1, would have difficulty penetrating the Kontakt-5 armour of the T-80U.

If they added the T-80U with 3BM46, I think the M1A1(HA) with M829A1 would be direct equals.

But currently, the M1A1 is inferior to the T-80U.
