Can I "purchase" gold for free to test stuff out? Or is it just that I can make purchases like normal but they won't carry over after the official update? I'm having trouble finding info and I don't feel like spending 300 dollars for gold to test stuff out that I won't keep...

Any purchase made goes to your real game account, and the dev server account.

Anything you do on the dev server does not carry over to the regular server.

Ex: I buy 5000 GE, both my real account and dev account get it. I can spend it on the dev server and it will not carry over to the regular server.

But no, unless you are a content creator (who get trophies with a train full of GE and all the new vehicles for the dev server) you have to use what resources you have to unlock and play with stuff on the server.

Yeah playing the dev server is a waste of time, you dont keep any progress, they should just let use use everything on the dev server so we can all test it.

Found the guy who doesn't know that early hit-rates for air to air missiles were abysmal and that in order to score a kill you still need to get on their 6 and hope it actually locks.

But its still a thing that they have and the other jets dont, its just one more thing and it all adds up, think about it the F100 can dive at 1400KPH like its nothing no other jets apart from the 19 can do that, the 9.0 jets are going to get ruined constantly, its broken, its so broken, its 8.0-9.0 all over again only this time its 9.0-10.0.

It's not a waste, the entire point of the dev server is to play around, use stuff, break stuff, and help with bug/error reporting. Not personal gain. Of course you don't keep all progress when researching is 5x faster and 5x cheaper. Lol

As someone who has been in the dev server most of the day, I can say that currently it is easy to break missile locks, even in jets with no countermeasures. A dive toward the ground or a sharp turn will snap it off your tail, no issue. So will turning engines off.

Sure the tier VI jets have speed and climb for now, but the missiles aren't killing everything easily (though I managed to get a lock-on to my friend in an I-16 and erased it, which was great).

But we're getting off-topic, OP just asked about purchasing GE and how it operates on teh dev server.

Ok if they want you to play and break stuff have it all unlocked on the dev server so we can test a break everything without having to grind it.

I was fighting an F100 in a CL13 and i couldnt even get near him, not even close unless he lets me get close to him there nothing you can do, nothing, you are a sitting duck and on the defensive from the start, you will only win if he makes a huge mistake, its broken, they should have added in 15-20 supersonic jets and made a new tier starting at 10.3.

Then think about this, the new premium jets will be bought by noobs and then they will get clubbed by people with 1000s of hours who are in faster air craft.

Ill state it again if you want testing unlock everything on the dev server and let us use it right away rather than having to do any grinding, its counter productive, its clear the testing doesnt help them as every patch is broken and the issue are rarely fixed till the next patch or later, did i mention the 2A4 only just got a turret ring.
