this is just a warning for the future.
I personally have found out, I would be careful siting Tanks-Encyclopedia. I actually found plenty of errors with some of it’s tanks, it’s not a reliable resource. A lot of it’s information comes from Wikipedia as well.
Edit: The T26E4 did have the add-on armour, according to WoT Wiki, this[wiki.gcdn.co] is a T26E4 with the add-on
Same Caliber, but different guns, the M26 uses your average 90mm, the M26E1 uses that average 90mm with a slightly modified breach allowing it to fire bigger rounds with more propellant... The T26E1-1 uses a bigger 90mm that allows it to fire a bigger round (propellant wise, it is the same as the M26E1), the T32 uses that same big 90mm but modified so it could fire 2 pieces ammunition, that way the loader has to put the warhead and then the propellant.
Generally, 2 piece ammunition is often used when the tank interior is too cramped to allow the Loader to carry the big shell, for instance, the IS-2 uses 2 pieces ammunition compared to the T-44-122. On the other hand thou, if the loader has enough space to move the whole ammo in 1 piece, it will reload faster.
A mistake on the wiki. The single piece ammunition was just to much for the loader to work with in such a confined space (similar to the T-44-122), so it was decided to switch to a 2 piece system while at the same time shortening, but widening the propellent case to get the same velocity out of a shorter charge.
