Why do terrible maps like Sands of Sinai have to be in rotation?
In maps like Sands of Sinai, you get killed from all the way across the map from spawn. You can't even leave spawn without dying! Why have these maps that most people despise?

hehe with ♥♥♥♥♥ apfsds it is a dart tho, but yeah I prolly got unlucky. I noticed a shot that landed near me just like 10 seconds before I died.
bro you were in an abrams :) anyway yea when you see an impact near you its time to take cover.and scan for gunsmoke. but next time, try taking up that position. it atually takes a good minutte to get up there, and youre very vulnarable, i have been killed on my way there.

there was no cover lmao i was past the sand dunes that are right at spawn, i was about 10 seconds out of spawn when i died. I just wish maps weren't so open like Sinai

you gotta own it bro, be competetive at any and all ranges ;) i prefer the big open maps, cause thats my turf, hate the tiny maze brawls though, thats way out of my comfort zone.

at long range abrams vs t64b/t80b, the abrams is at a disadvantage. Especially if hull down. With the ERA, my stock apfsds, and the range combined, the driver port will be near inpennable until the era is shot off. The lower glaciis is tiny and bouncy, the mantlet is even tinier, and the driver port is small as well. The t64b/t80b has a large mantlet on the abrams to hit, as well as the large turret ring and lower/upper glaciis whatever you want to call it with around 360 mm KE protection.

lol dude, im constantly being uptiered and pretty much always at a disadvantage. own it. master the ranges, better than your opponent, and that range can be a lifesaver.

naf trying to fight a t64b/t80b 2km away isnt a question of skill, it is a question of retardedness. If you are fighting a t64b/t80b 2 km away hull down, it doesn't matter how good you are, you just don't do it.

The issue with sands of Sinai: despite being so “”big””, tanks can easily spawncamp from half the map, ‘cause much of Rank 5-6 is 600-1500 HP engined MBTs with 90-125mm stabilized guns with high velocity ammunition and CE ammunition that can penetrate multi-hundreds of mm of armor at any range or angle, optical and 5km laser rangefinders, 2-5km ATGMs, helicopter support, etc. etc.

I think there are these two magical wands that can fix 95% of issues Rank IV-VI if both are implemented:

-BR Decompression Br 6.0-10.0.

-the use of more realistic/large maps for RB/SB at all tiers with the removal of arcade maps (which is what people want: multiple polls on the WT forums for these types of suggestions are always in the 80-90% range),

-along with special 5km by 5km (apsolute minimum, open desert maps could go bigger)Cold War style maps for Rank V-VI exclusively, for these tanks that have standard combat ranges of 2.5km and can engage enemy AFVs up to 5km.

I don’t think a single map in the entire game for ground forces in RB and SB should ever, ever be any smaller than 3km by 3km - maybe perhaps with the exception of if they added WW1 tanks - and for high tier (Rank V+ RB), change the ‘3km’ to ‘5km’.

I like sands of Sinai, Rank III and Iv, occasionally it’s fun Rank V, but the issue is it just has the same issue as any other map if you’re talking about high tier: it’s like if you played jet battles on a map where the 2 airfields are 8km apart. It. Doesn’t. Work.

tbh you should know me by now, I just get pissed off at the game and make a thread complaining about something being OP or broken. Fun fact about my discussion with the ULQ being stupid, I actually use ULQ.

Yeah but this is a legitimate concern, small maps almost always lead to spawncamping, as it’s too easy to do.

Bring back old El Alamein.

Like seriously, old massive El Alamein was an incredible map and almost perfect for MBT's, yet Gaijin shrunk it for stupid reasons; despite it being THE biggest map in War Thunder.

Mozdok I believe has been shrunk over the years and is now borderline unplayable what with helicopters spawning behind you, god knows why?
