Yes it does something, makes you die less often.
So, important.
Tanks, it’s not as important, but it is still a good skill. A direct hit from a tank round in most cases kill the crew, as it should, but it does protect from spalling and such. But typically, stuff such as reload, gunnary, leadership, field repair, etc. I personally recommend, I think they are more useful.
Personally, I enjoy the new pilot damage mechanic. If a pilot gets wounded, they're not going to be operating their aircraft to the best of their abilities.
I get why you respect them for adding it, and making the game more dynamic; but enjoy? Really?
I'm pretty sure it's a leftover from when they tried to introduce P2W modifications too. So there's that.
I don't believe it to be that much of a realistic mechanic either since when you're injured you'd have far more adrenaline running through your viens, but of course depends how seriously you're injured.
In terms of gameplay though I'd like to see it gone. It's not a useful mechanic and it just ruins air combat for me.
2. What kind of lvls does this take effect? Is it linear, tan pilot has mild decrease, yellow has more, etc? Or does this apply to just red pilots? Or orange and red? Because red, tbh I think sounds realistic. Red to me always felt like ‘your pilot still has the last amount of strength to fight, but essentially is bleeding to death’ kind of wounds. If like yellow or something, I imagine the adrenaline part should apply, but I always imagined say a red crew member being essentially having one of their limbs half blown off or massive stomach wounds or burns and shrapnel to the face, etc, but say the crew member is doing like a last stand or something.
As for the argument about if the current injured pilot mechanic is good or not, really a pilot should be taken out 100% of the time if anything above the strength or equal to that of a 12.7 mm Browning hits them. The round has the power to split a body in two if it hits centermass and a 20 mm would only be worse; but of course this effect should be reduced in AB.
