How?

G-5 gets a single 12.7mm and the least crew of all reserves. Most of the tier 1 USSR boats only get a handful of MGs, while other nations get more and heavier armaments.

The larger boats are slower than US boats with less armament (especially with how good 40mms are at deleting enemies).

The tank guns will overpen most other craft, unless you load HE, and even then the slow fire rate and small caliber can’t compete with a rain of enemy fire.

As far as destroyers go, US by far outclasses the USSR in-game.

Haven’t tried the cruisers yet, so I can’t comment there.

The Russians only have an initial advantage. They get a bunch of good early cannon boats, at a BR when other nations get maybe one decent cannon boat (or none in the Germans' case) and a bunch of autocannon boats.

The general concensus has been that the Americans outclass the Germans and Russians overall. As for the British, well they look pretty good actually, but it remains to be seen how they measure up.

In my experience German and American navies are the best for current meta. Soviets aren't the worst (the Japanese are), but they aren't the best either. They do have some very annoying smaller ships, though (MPK / MBK).

Well, I was a navy closed beta tester and back then, soviet navy Was quite strong at T1 - T2. But after new updates, ships and adding other countries' navy, the US navy wins by having a "balanced" build with decent but multiple Machine Guns and Auto Cannons, decent armour protection and decent speed, while Germany navy has huge calibre guns and thicc armour but sacrifices speed. Soviet navy is very weak when you hit T3 and it's very difficult to progress. They have paper armour and slow, medium calibre cannons and lacks AAA defence. It is 2 times easier to dive bomb a soviet boat than a US one (coz US boats are FILLED with heavy machine guns) and 4 out of 10 you die from bombs. Another 4 out of 10 the enemy spams you with AAA and autocannons, and 2 out of 10 you die from an unfair fight which you don't even have guns as big or as many as your enemy's. Right now I'm kinda stuck in T3.7 and I failed to stay alive in Arcade Mode. The only advantage of using soviet torpedo boats is their insane speed, which can occasionally out-cap and out-flank enemy sub chasers in Realistic Battles. Gunboats duel requires quite some skill but do-able. But in many times, when your enemy has Germany defence platforms/ US sub-chasers/ US destroyers, You Are DEAD.
