Can someone confirm if the Heer had the Death's Head insignia on their tanker uniforms??

Well, the totenkopf was used as early as Kingdom of Prussia and reserved for the Death's Head Hussar only( Brunswick is an exception though ), but I guess the death's head is only for the SS divisions, like the Death's Head Hussars, the SS wanted to show their "Elitism" so they are the ones with it, not the standard german army.

The Totenkopf was also used as the unit insignia of the Panzer forces of the German Heer (Army), and also by the Panzer units of the Luftwaffe.

The Totenkopf and other symbols, were divisional insgnia. One of the SS Panzer divisions did use it, yes, but afaik no division of the Heer used it.

As divisional insignia it was used by 3rd SS Panzerdivision "Totenkopf", but german tank and assault gun units (i.e. Wehrmacht) had the skull on their collar patches, as well as SS units.
