German M48A2 worth it?
Is there any point spending SL on crewing it considering it will probably uptier me to 9.0?

Oh and just for context my best tank is the Leopard 1 ATM.
If you want a 0.3 higher M48 which isn't even that good to begin with... Then yes be my guest.

8.0 is actually not that bad since 90% of the time the 9.0 gets uptiered to 10.0s matches, but the M48A2 is really not that of a great tank tbh at the current BR it's at.

Despite all the crying about it, yeah.

What a joke !
Is litterally straight up worse than the M60 at 7.7 for the americans, at 8.0 in a tree that does not have an 8.0 line up.
It isn't even up to STB-1..

"Muh crying" my ass lmao

Tanks should have their BRs reflect their performance. Shoe-horning them into lower BRs just so they can be part of artificial line-ups doesn't help anybody
The M48A2 is considerably faster than both M48A1 and M60, its reverse speed is higher and has access to smoke grenades.

Another way to look at it is that it's like the M60 with M48's mobility+

Don't make me laugh, mobility difference is laughable and M48A2 has no stabilizer to make use of it. That stabilizer makes M60 100000 times more mobile than any sterile km/h value you might have read on war thunder wiki.

What's the point of having a fast tank at 8.0 when it needs to stop to freaking shoot ? And you want to pretend that smokes makes up for it.
Gimme a break. That thing is 7.7 MAX regardless of how you look at it.

The American M60 doesn't have a stabilizer, only the M60A1 does, which is at 8.3.

Which is why the M48A2 is not 8.0 stuff. In the best case that isn't a downtier it goes against M60's, STB 1 (7.7 - 8 ?), Chieftains (and 7.7 Centurions with stabilizers), T10M, Magach 3 (7.7).
There's no point in playing around the 0.3 br difference with M60 stabilized just as much as there's no point in even considering 0.3 br difference for any of those tank: There's nothing at 8.0 If you think M48A2 can fight against this stuff and its performances are equal or even comperable you are delusional. Nontheless, any tank should be on par with the opponents at 0.3 above/down, we are not talking about 0.7 or even 1 br difference.

So yeah, it's plain 7.7 material, it should only face stabilized guns if uptiered, not as direct opponent. Period.

If it had a stabilizer or APFSDS rounds or something I could probably understand, but what does this thing have over the Magach which has ERA and is almost the same thing (even has the better engine and M48 hull)?
