the best ammunition for aircraft
I do not understand how the ammunition of the planes works and I do not know what to choose, I usually like heavy bombers although I am at a clear disadvantage with the light ones that move better, but I feel that I have a greater firepower, although some dislike me as the Ki-45-Otsu, which despite having a 37mm cannon, is very slow to shoot and the chances of hitting that shot are reduced.

But back to the subject, what ammunition should I use? I do not understand how it works, there is tracer ammunition, anti-armor, incendiary, etc ... which is worth more?

Most ammo types have the same shells in the belts, just more of a certain type, take an ap ammo for instance, will still have tracer round sin it, but more ap bullets (better for crew sniping). Tracer ammo obviously has more tracer rounds which are better against aircraft for setting fire (wood,fabric, fuel tanks) etc

dude...different caliber rounds have different muzzle velocity, this is not some fantasy round that shoot straight for hundreds of kilometers, it takes practice to connect your shot. for a noob like you i'd recommend the tracer rounds so you can see where your bullets fly, make corrections if you miss. the rounds you select is what task you want to achieve, the ammo selection before every match or in the modifications tab should be discriptive enough to know which round does what best.

if you mouse over each ammo belt you will see a pop-up window showing that ammos stats. in that window near the top you should see a string of letters seperated by slashes eg AP / AP / APIT. this is the actual composition of the ammo belt. the different types of ammo are (but not limmited to):

AP = armour piercing
I = incendiary
T = tracer
HE = high explosive
F = fragmentation
IAI = imediate action incendiary
HVAP = high velocity armour peircing
and you also get combination types like APIT =armour peircing incendiary tracer

so in my example earlier a belt which shows AP / AP / APIT would fire two armour peircing rounds with every third round being an armour peircing incendiary tracer. so you pick the ammo which serves the purpose you want best, incendiary rounds set targets on fire, high explosive does a lot of damage to soft targets but explodes on contact with even very thin metal so wont damage components not near the surface. tracers are the only rounds you can see so they show you where your fire is going, imediate action incendiaries are also for aiming as they cause a visible spark on the surface they hit but are otherwise very weak etc

It completely depends on weapon and nation, what works well for one doesnt for other. need to experiment around to see what works best.

I must say that unlike the ground battles, the aerial battles generally go very well, in fact, I used to use light fighters before and it was fun even without considering the type of ammunition, however, one day I started using heavy aircraft and I like and even the average bombers amuse me, the problem is that I never know which ammunition is the best for me, and as Eftwyrd says, in the ammunition belt that information appears, then I can say that the tracers do not interest me, because I usually do not have problems to aim and to know my angle of shot, although they would not hurt either to practice ... What is clear is that AI gunners do not need ammunition Trazadora.

Then the point of the explosive and incendiary, says that they explode in the lightest armor, but the planes are very vulnerable, really the explosive ammunition does not manage to cross them?

I am hesitant for example between using: HEFI-T / HEF-I / AP-T, or FI / HEF-I for my KI-45 KO, which is more convenient?

Even within a given nation's planes, ammo belt composition varies. So the answer can be specific to each plane. As a generalization, for attacking other aircraft, I look for belts with as much HE (high explosive) and/or I (incendiary) content as possible.

Japanese cannons work best with HEF variants, that's usually Universal or Stealth belts.
