just forged iron bomb casings instead of you know ones that are put together or machined or manufactured. with a forged bomb you just fill it with powder and its good to go.

Idk, but I imagine they could be slightly more aerodynamic due to no welding and stuff, since it’s all one forged piece? Just a guess, and it’s just a bomb so it doesn’t really matter overall.

Though it did just occur to me, the German Minengeschoß (mine shell) for the 20mm Mg 151 and 30mm MK 108 was more powerful than it’s other nations’ counterparts, it was because the shell was cast allowing the shell to have way thinner walls than other HE shells, allowing them to cram more explosives in. Try checking the stats of the forged bombs and a bomb that doesn’t say forged of a similar size, the forged MIGHT be like the mine shell and the forged shells allow for thinner walls, fitting in much more explosives than the non-forged counterparts.

A good advantage to a forged bomb was if you wanted to penetrate an object (such as dirt or a structure). Because it is forged as one solid piece, it won't crumple (or break) when impacting the ground, allowing it to dig deeper with little issue. A welded bomb is good for surface targets as it's easier for the blast to break it apart and you generally are not worried about penetrating the ground (or other things as much) and you can often pack a bit more filler in it.

Though in terms of WT, I don't think it makes any actual difference. Hell, considering Gaijin said in their last Q&A that Japanese AP bombs don't actually make any difference, it's probably safe to assume all bombs act the same.
