Why is the lancaster so crap?

UK abandoned day bombing raids for a reason - their bombers were pretty easy targets.

The 7.7s really lack in defensive power, it's true. Bomb load is great though.

Have you tried it in 1.79? Because:

Lincoln B.Mk.II - Bomb load 14х1000lb has been added.

My bad, I didnt check it since the patch, since it hadn't been changed prior I assumed they left it. Well at least it has something going for it now, with the 20mms.

Don't listen to those Chasers main. Bomber got nerfed so hard by Gaijin because players were crying on the forums (mostly BF109 players) because the were dying to the B17.SO now in WT the bomber are made of paper... That's all.

Bombers are still completely viable and reliable vehicles, just don’t fly directly into enemy fighters :)

except in most cases if you want to get anywheres in your bomber tree...you have to fly directly into enemy fighters.

Spend half the match trying to climb, The match will ether end before you get where you want to be, or the no risk-no reward bombers will have taken all the high xp target already.

bomber durability is underperforming accross the board due to the insane buffs of 50cals turning them into 20mm cannons, 20mm autocannons were also recently buffed, turning them into effectively one shot god guns. bombers themselves have been given astronomically high repair costs for little reward.
