War Thunder
German flakpz I Gepard since 1.79
Anyone else notice that they have broken the reload on this tank.

(1) On CAP first round clip of 40 reloads in less than 3 seconds but never reloads another round. Unless you move off and then reload first clip in seconds.
(2) You can on carry 40 rounds of the first clip with the remainder being the second clip regardless of load out.

You only have 40 shots of APDS now, that's all you get. The rest is AA ammo:
Version 1.79 Changelog eredeti hozzászólása:
Type-87, Flakpz I Gepard , Marksman: The selective power for automatic guns has been defined. For AAA it is now possible to switch between two types: primary and external. The belt of sub-caliber ammunition now consists of only 20 rounds per barrel and is always considered to be external.

Which is apparently the real deal:
Short translation of the important parts:
- one ammo rack per gun inside the turret each storing 320 shots of AA ammo
- one external ammo rack per gun each storing 20 shots of HVAPDS-T ammo.

Does not change the fact that it is broken.

Not able to change 1 second between each type of ammo, is taking way too long to rearm second clip. Will not rearm the first clip automatically in a CAP when fired.

Well, AFAIK it based on proper documents, so i won't protest

But please, change the repair cost accordingly

It says, that is default load, but an expierenced crew may also HVAPDS-T on continues feed (or the internal ammo). This would mean that how it used to be was correct. This also does not change that 1 round fails to reload correctly on CAP when used currently and that the intneral rounds are not reloading at all if the external round has been used.

Or hey guys there a mbt over there you need to kill, ok we'll just exit out tank and manual load hvap rounds .... that's normal ... pfft

The fact that you need to shoot to change the ammo is retarded.

An experienced crew would know that their job is to shoot down aircraft, not go tank hunting. The APDS is only a fall-back measure for self defence if it can't be helped engaging a heavily armoured vehicle.

Your claim isn’t valid, just being silly as i was quoting the German translation (a little tongue n cheek). Plenty of AA can kill tanks and did in WW2 without help and this tank comes from 70's with fire control updates into the early 90's.

Even with this nerf, it still does fine with 65mm pen ammo against most tanks, the problem is the hit register for 40 rounds hvap being spat out so quickly (less than 1 second of fire). It should have slower rate of fire like the Russian spaa for these manual loaded rounds or even single shot / semi auto choice. (logic is that the game does not and cannot keep up with the fire rate and;)

It should also be toggle switch between the internal and external ammo as per real life one not few seconds lost as currently modelled. (the swap is instant in the real life version)

This SPAA (the real life version) is fully automatic control and fire. Aiming to fire and kill planes isnt required. (if they fly in range they die and good for 20 plane kills according to documentation)

Also comes the point the HVAP rounds can be on the internal mechanism.

Just because they could doesn't mean that they should. They're called anti-air for a reason. They're there to shoot down planes not engage heavily armoured ground vehicle. They might have been capable of it but only in a moment of true desperation for self defense purposes.

There's other dedicated vehicles for engaging heavy armour, namely tanks. AA isn't it. His arguement is very valid.

Personally I think it's BS that AA gets 60mm+ of penetration at low BR's. The early german AA is BS and need a nerf in anti-tank performance imo.

I'm not trying to debate the point about AA vs. Tanks. You want to argue about SPAA vs. Tank then please start thread on that topic (more than happy to debate that point elsewhere).

This is about change made in 1.79 and that the AA is not reloading correctly every time since that change and the pre spawn also is confused allocating way to many rounds to hvap belt that no longer present and not matching the real world change over between these belts which has no delay.

If you want no hvap rounds in AA. I'm sure you could make a post about such a subject, allthough likewise many would like no planes and thus no need for aa and bla bla bla on it goes.....
