i go into the game, go to customization for the vehicle, and generate a template in the userskins folder by pressing that button.
i go to the userskins folder in c/programstuff/steam/steamapps/common/warthunder/userskins
i drop the downloaded skin in the template
i rename it and use it
nah, i dont. i just drop the stuff in there and it works.
Ive had little problems following the guides on how to install custom skins.
How did you do it?
2. close game and drop the skins i downloaded into that file.
3. start war thunder again
also are you trying to load a specific skin to a specific vehicle or a camo that can be used by any vehicle
^^^ this is the question ;) - because for some skins (that are made for multiple planes) it's sometimes necessary to edit the *.blk file to make the skin work on a specific plane. so maybe you could link one of the skins (on WT live ?!) you try to get working and also say on which plane you want it.
uhhh, why not ?
open the windows explorer and navigate to
c:\program files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\War Thunder\
(that would be the default Steam games folder... ofc you can add additional drives / folders but still the method would be the same)
you can also open the game folder from Steam. right-click War Thunder on Steam -> go to properties -> local files -> browse local files. this will open the game folder directly (regardless of it's installation location (this may be more convenient if you got several Steam game folders)
