German aircraft underpowered at late tier?

So, little story, I love Germany, I love their aircraft, the engines, the guns, the tanks, I'm mainly a german pilot/tanker. But, I recently switched to America and Britain, because I was so sick of dying over and over again as Germany. Playing with American or British aircraft has been the best War Thunder experience for me in years. Every game, I get kills, assists, and I have fun. Then I went back to Germany, same result as months before.

My playstyle with Germany isnt bad, with the 109's, I climb as high as I can and use BnZ, it is sometimes useful, but often, no matter how hard I push the 109K4, there is another player at the same altitude as me, or higher. I turn away, he catches up with me, with more speed and energy, then I can do nothing but dive, and I die because I'm the last player on my team or they're too far away or too low to help. With the FW's, and the 152's, I do the same, I climb, I push the engine as much as possible without overheating, and by the time I hit 20k feet, Im the last player on my team, and the allies call me an absolute list of not very nice names because I wont bail or let them kill me. But I'm sick of dying and being killed, J'ing out for the other team, or being the last guy alive.

I've tried other tactics, I've tried climbing to medium alt, but the Spitfires are higher, and they dive on me and I cant outtrun, outturn, or outclimb, I can outdive, but whats the point if I'll just be lawn mowing with no advantage or energy?

I also find German 20mm and 30mm's close to impossible to aim, the velocity makes me want to smash my monitor.

Also, 109's lock up a lot, so turning is almost pointless when I'm going slow or fast, overall, German aircraft's manoeuvrability is so damn poor at any speed, high or low alt.

Is this just me? Is it my team? Is it the aircraft?

One more thing, in tank RB, I very rarely see a German aircraft ever win a fight with an allied aircraft, when I played British or American planes, I cant even remember the amount of kills I got, almost every game in the P51D30 or the Spit Mk22, 2-4 kills per game. Whilst the 109K4, 0-1 kill, if I'm lucky.

Tactics, L2P issues.... those .50s wipe the floor with most everything, but in tank RB I win most of the time because I dive to ground level as soon as I spawn in, so that I will be harder to spot.

Try to stick with your team, and don’t take any unnecessary risks, unless you’re confident that you’ll come out on top.

I have spent months and months trying to get better with German aircraft and I just cant. I tried a lot, I tried staying with my team but they dive early and get killed, maybe one or two get a kill, but they all still die super early. I also take 0 risks. If there is a player at the same alt as me or above me, I will make it my objective to get higher than him, or he will kill me, by the end of the game, my entire team has died and left the game and I'm at 30,000 feet trying to stay a kilometre above an enemy aircraft, or the entire enemy team.

It’s hard to explain how to be good, because it’s a pretty subjective thing. The only way you’ll get good is by trying different things.

I agree with what u said about german aircraft feeling underpowered against allied nations, i main german planes and my criticisms for german planes are: they cannot outclimb allied aircraft, they barely outrun allied aircraft, slow high altitude acceleration is terrible, zooming back up to alt after booming will usually result with a spacefire tailing u till u either turn, or he slowly catches up, dont even talk about out turning, they lock up at speeds above roughly 600 kph ias, they suffer from really really bad compression, the issue isnt as apparent say, flying an Fw a5/ bf109 g6 (i really dont like the g6) and gets worse as u progress further

meanwhile allied planes can do almost anything the germans can, especially being able to pull out of high speed dives at low alt/ never seem to compress, also ever since the .50 buff, the "amazing" firepower of german planes seem worse, with .50s u get the luxury of spray and pray, and setting everything on fire, while german cannons are best at taking out landing gears or sometimes ripping a plane apart, sometimes, maybe its me being bad, or i dont truly understand playing german aircraft, since not a lot of people are talking about german aircraft being bad, but thats just what i feel

I completely agree with you. They need to do something about it soon becuase people are getting sick of it and Germany players are switching to allies. Lets hope the Germans get the buff they have needed for many years!

Well, at later tier they can face allied superprop. For me, i just stick with Bf 109 G-2

Even the G2 faces some pretty powerful spits, and the P51D30. I wish German aircraft lived up to their name in War Thunder

they used to be really good, from what my friends told me, the fw d9 was a beast, now it suffers from really poor elevator authority and compression whilst it's climb isnt that much greater than allied planes, i mainly play the 109s and they feel pretty good, but only when u're behind someone, and higher energy, then u'd have a pretty decent chance, at equal energy with a spit its pretty hopeless, and them having more energy basically is instant rape

also it doesnt really help when the majority of german pilots are mostly inexperienced, so once u're done trying to get urself into a good position, half ur team is gone

The exact same happens to me, all the good players have switched to the allies. All my teams just get slaughtered because they mow the lawn and get themselves killed. Maybe 1 or 2 get a kill by heading on, thats it
