Graphic settings questions.
What exactly are:

Foam quality
Soft particles
FX reflections
Haze
Detailed foliage
Terrain displacement quality

Foam quality = Refers to the quality of the seafoam that is formed when the waves hit the shore.

Soft particles = Soft particles - Softens particles when clipping. Particles are effects like smoke, fire, dust, etc. Clipping is when geometry intersect.

FX reflections = Reflections of effects (can happen on the water and other shiny surfaces).

Haze = Atmospheric effect as objects are farther in the distance, they become foggy. Note that there still is haze with it off.

Detailed foliage = Refers to the level of detail of the trees' leaves. The higher the level of detail, the better looking/detailed the foliage is, thus consuming more video memory/processing.

Terrain displacement quality = Not sure about this, but it seems that it refers to the displacement the terrain suffers when a tank or other heavy object rolls over it. It pertains to the level of detail of the geometry of the displacement. Less detail will mean less polygons and less gpu processing is needed.

some of these things will be explained by the game itself if you hover your mouse over it

- Foam quality is to do with foam textures on water.
- I'm not sure about soft particles.
- FX reflections allow effects like tracers, fire and explosions to be reflected on water.
- Haze is basically a fog effect.
- Detailed foliage is self explanatory.

I see.

Well I have turned most of it down or off and I don't see a big difference to how it has been looking before, just that my FPS went up.

I think I keep it that way.

Thanks.

What kind of answer is this. LOL

It's not like I didn't check the explanation before I've opened this thread. Doesn't mean I fully understand it.
Next time only reply if you can provide help or a proper useful answer in anyway. Pathetic.

How is it helping someone if you tell him to read the ingame descriptions?

This isn't answering my questions at all nor is it useful in any way and even comes off quite rude.

I would not have created this topic if I would not have checked out the grapical settings myself nor hovered over the bloody words and read the descriptions.

Jezz...I am fed up with this monkey logic on these forums nowadays.

It's always the same. People ask " Why did my parrot escape? " and others answer " Did you check if the lock was brokeen ? " I mean what the actual F... Do we really live in a society like this nowadays? Where people simply lost their brain? What has happened.... Man..I am really looking forward to getting old and being surrounded by braindead freaks who care more about pop-music than logical analytical thinking.

If you have an Nvidia card a good way to find out this information is to open Geforce Experiance and change graphics options from there, it'll show a preview of what the settings look like while on and off
