Freezing after two left clicks
i recently got back into War Thunder after watching some very amusing videos. I reinstalled and got everything set up. I decided to play around with my planes when the freezes started happening. i figured it was just some lag and ignored it. I proceeded to jump straight into a game where I found that everytime i left clicked twice, my game froze for 2-3 seconds. Now it doesn't seem like much but in a dogfight i just lost my prey. Would really love some help if anyone has had this problem and knows how to fix it.

A friend of mine was having a very similiar issue. And we went through just about every fix. We litterally could not for the life of us figure out what was going wrong, we updated video drivers, messed with graphics settings. And even tried running the launchers built in repair.

However, we did find a fix. (assuming you are having the same issue as my friend) and the only thing he can do to avoid the "error freeze detected" is to launch the game without the launcher. Right click War Thunder in your steam and then click "properties". Then find the tab at the top that says "local files" and then find the option that says "browse local files". And in the upper right corner search "aces.exe" and launch the game using that. The only draw back to launching the game this way, is you will still need to open the launcher occasionally to update the game. Lemme know if this works! Hope this helps.

When you launch it with the aces.exe, does it automatically log you in? If not, there should be a button under the "sign in" called "steam login". If you are already signed in, click your name. (It's to the left of the "To Battle" button. And in the window that just appeared, click "switch user" in the lower left corner. And this will bring you to the login window.

Ok. If that didn't work. You can try doing a few different things that can fix this.

  • Update your graphics drivers
  • Run the launchers built in repair. (upper right corner of the launcher. Click the wrench. Then click "check files" and let that run.

Perhaps a stupid question, but maybe the mouse is the problem?

Could be, but what would cause that? It doesn't do that in any other game.
*Edit* Just plugged in another mouse and i'm still getting the freezing :/

Do you have low fps? Do you crash in any other games?

If no to both of those questions; In detail what do you do prior to the crash?

Well, its not really a crash its just i will click twice. Like trailing an enemy and shooting bursts. when shooting my second burst my game will freeze as soon as i click to shoot. then it just freezes for two to three seconds.

Oh. That means this is not a "freeze detected" error. Does your FPS drop when you shoot? And what is your ping and packet loss? (Ping and PL are labeled in the low left corner of your screen during gameplay)

If you have SSAA set to x4. Try turning this option to off.

Close the game. Try disconnecting your drawing pad. Then reopen the game.

I'm not a technical moderator, but I'm trying my best to help.
