Best recording software?
I'm thinking of making some montages, seeing as I've got quite a lot 'clean' kills which I usually find interesting to watch. I'm looking for something to record the replays with, in 1080p and preferably easy to use, or that it has some YouTube tutorials.

Cheers

OBS is good and I personally use it, I've also heard good things about Shadowplay but it requires Nvidia GeForce so might not be available to you.

OBS seems way too complicated to me. I looked up some YouTube videos and they all seem clickbaity. I playing Air RB on high and getting 90+ FPS, but on OBS the video always ends up grainy. Although I mainly tried to record live battles, I'll give it a shot again when recording replays. Are you familiar with tinkering with OBS settings? I'd love to get some tips from someone more expirienced.

I'm not too experienced myself, but if I remember correctly I found some Youtube videos for 'lag free' recording and played around with the settings they suggested, once everything is set up it's fairly easy to grasp.

One tip I do have is not to use the 'game recorder' mode for fullscreen applications as I have had trouble in the past with recordings freezing and blacking out because of this. Instead, I turn all things like message popups on the Steam overlay off and use the simple monitor recorder. That way I can trust it more.

Believe it or not, the Windows 10 game DVR has zero performance impact, and is free to use with no watermark.

@SCHENEIGHNAY I always turn off the windows 10 DVR I find it has a huge performance impact with my set up. was recommened in many forums to turn off to gain a boost. But if you can use it without problems. id go with that too.

I’m personally a big fan of Geforce Experience. Recording’s quite good quality with almost no performance drops.

Yeah, for me, ReLive gives me a MASSIVE performance drop, but the game DVR has absolutely none.

I'll try the game DVR first, see if it works. I'll update the thread when I test out several different programs.

The Nividia GeForce recording software (forgot the exact name) is really nice and simple, but you do need a Nvidia graphics card
