Best ammo for Tiger H1/E

So is the starting ammo (the Pzgr 39?) the best? I mean it has the highest penatration value, so why would I ever use anything else?

leave that tiger alone and go for another tech tree... you will constantly uptiered to fight 6.7 tanks and will get destroyed by them believe me... only way to play this game is go russian bias line... you will se for your self when t-34 bounce your tiger shells like they were made out of rubber , but those things cut trough tigers like hot knife trough butter... i have more then 2k+ hours in this game and on there platform not steam and believe me this game is all about those russians....

I have 400+ battles on my tigers, more than a 2.5 k/d ratio on them, they're good tanks. I have 400 hours on the game on Steam, and I have my tigers fully researched. I was asking b/c I didn't know if the other ammos had some special traits to them that made up for the lack of penetrating power, and I had never bothered to swap the ammos out b/c of said lack of penetrating power.

I think the other rounds have more after penetration damage but the stock already does so well.

PzGr39 actually is the best shell for almost all German tanks that have it. Apart from the penetration being good, it also usually deals the most damage.

y'know making a 88 round bounce on a T-34 is impressive, T-34's have 45 mm of frontal armor like have to shot in a really bad spot to make it bounce like in the sides when they are facing you

In general, the stock round for most German tanks is the best. Examples being the Tiger 1s, 2s, Panthers, and most of the TDs. On the 128mm you wanna use the APCBC-HE.
