This.
Yeah its the right direction but still a far way off.
There is a lot more you can advertise about realistically performing MBTS like Abrams.
It seems to work for WoT though.
Though yeah the gap between early and late tier vehicles is becoming way to big. Some may hate modern tanks whilst others have absolutely no interest in slow ww2 tanks. It's quite a difficult issue to tackle but a very important one imo.
EDIT: Also, the SL requirements.
Reasons to change your mind
-WT is spreading the poop net so wide and thin, that its failing at very basic princiables that WoT(and WoWS) have had nailed for years. And that is rewarding the player. Example being if you have a GREAT game, the XP and Money earned will reflect that, where as in WT its so very minor reguardless of the mode you play,
-WT you almost feel like you are required to have a premium account to make any serious kind of progress where as in WoT It feels legitimately like a booster, You can make decent progress on your own ( Even if you only have a good game every so often)
-WT's(Very Russian) bias and(Very Russian) blatant lies. Its no secret that there is an obvious bias with the devs, they shackle their youtubers to not criticize the games flaws (That they in turn never notice on their own until mass outcry) and with a bias torwards certain vehicals. There are plenty of videos on youtube showing why a certain vehical eats so many bullets, even in RB battles and why it can almost effortlessly kill you without the user even trying. and when you raise your concerns, you know what happens, the majoirty of people who use the vehical will freak out, the admins or mods will remove your post or lock it with a made up excuse in hand, and when you google your complaint you find that many others have said exactly what you said, Years prior yet they are still existing.
-The Future of WT, it doesnt take a elementry school diploma to see that player count and youtuber content is going down. So what does WT do to counter this issue? Release more Tanks,More Planes,(Warboats) Premium or not, Likewise what has WoT done in WT lifetime? In the games life time its had 3 Engine overhauls, Phisics upgrades/overhauls, Complete Map Reworks,Balence and even Overhauled maps by completely redesigning them. Added Ranked play, and have had a solid ClanWars system in place that rewards people for playing IN Clanwars, Even adding in a gamemode that allows respawns on a massive, progession type map and listen to feed back on that new game mode. Mission system that grants Discounts,Whole Tanks, ect that anyone can do, ( WarThunder Tried this and put 2 IQ into it as they are mind numbingly simple or frustrating, beyond what an achivment should be) and so much more, But sadly that isnt Gaijins plan and thus its where it is today,
-So now let me ask you(or anyone), If WoT Took out the Unrealistic Spotting System, If they took out the Unrealistic Health Bars,Which game would be better then?
-Spotting and Health Bars are the 2 core reasons people have Disliked it from the very start but when paired with All the attention to their core game,All the attention to rewarding the player, All the attention focused on players cries, allowing youtubers to voice not only their concerns but their fansconcerns aswell, rewarding compeditive players even rewarding compeditive clans (With premium currency for those who dont know) The constant barrage of new missions, new rewards. The graphics, phisics and engine are vastly superior now, and soo much more that I'm missing, Only 2 reasons are what seperates what Hands down is the better game,
That is why there are MORE players in WoT Alone (not WoWS or WoWP), then all of WT.
(I didnt even cover how WT divides its playerbase with constant new modes/sub modes that eventually add up to high queue times and poor Match Making.)
While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, theres alot on this list that irks me a good bit.
As someone who traded in WoT for WT, im going to reply my thoughts.
Thers little here i agree with, but this is one for the most part. Its not so much as the main XP/silver rewards that i think are better, as i find WoT not very rewarding without premium either, the way WoT handles free exp is something i can get behind. WT doesnt even have the concept of "free xp" implemented, instead they used a universal system that you have to convert from using GE and has an absoluelty afwul rate for it.
The "Russian Bias" arguement isnt a very good one to use, first off is because its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, second off because (surprise) WoT bathes in "russian bias" just as much as WT does, even more from my experience. Its the same song and dance weve all heard for years and anyone with any decent amount of time knows its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. If anything WT would have a harder time with it due to being restricted by official documents in some measure, while WoT can do whatever it wants willy nilly for no reason besides they thought it was a good idea.
This is basically just wrong all over the place. How many shots a tank can eat depends heavily on the ammo type being fired, where the shot actually hits, and how the damage RNG responds. Different ammo types deal damage in different ways and in different volumes. If yorue firing solid shot, you are most likely going to have to fire more rounds at a target because the damage is a linear cone from the outside towards the inside instead of an explosion inside the tank. So if you dont hit the right spot, you wont damage or kill anything and the tank wont suffer any notible damage. You cant kill crew members who are already dead.
The "effortlessly one shot you after being hit alot" is a flawed arguement. it doesnt matter how much a tank is shot or how much damage it takes, as long as the breach is fine, the barell is fine and the gunner is alive, it can fire just as well and be just as deadly as it was when it was full health with no damage at all. A tanks firepower doesnt diminish because the engine is destroyed or the commander is dead. on a side note, this is the exact reason "kill stealing" is a stupid thing t o complain about in WT.
As someone who is here very reguarly, the only threads that get locked are necros, flamewar threads meant to get people mad, or just other weird ♥♥♥♥ (ex: a guy made a thread about how he just groped his 12 year old cousin, and it was deservably locked and hopefully banned).
Ive been playing for around 5 years now, and if you ask me the player count is just as healthy and much healthier at times than its ever been before. The game is most certainly not dying.
Very silly to bring up the engines if you ask me. Im not expert, but if you compare the WT engine to the WoT engine, its very clear which one is the far more complex engine (hint: its WTs). Everything from the lighting to the sound, to the physics to the weather, the Dagoor (i beleive thats how its spelled) is the more sophisticated of the two. Its most liklely much more complex than whatever engine WoT runs.
Over all the time i played WoT, about 4 years and a week about a month ago, would you like to know how much the WoT engine has progressed? barely any. The games textures improved, but still pales to WT, the sounds are ok at best, the movement physics are meh, and the lighting sucks. The only real noticable change was the fact that added round drop and pen decrease over distance. Nothing impressive. As far as i could tell, their great big update 1.0 really didnt make any noticeable or interesting changes. While the Dagoor 5 didnt revolutionize WT, the Dagoor engine was already superior.
Personally, i think WoT sports very poor map design. Its very laned and even hinders certain playstyles greatly (such as TDs). Laned maps are quite boring, any place for long distance shooting to support the TD playerstle is almost always devoid of anyone because theyd rather play in the action of the lanes instead of in the small spaced in between which are deathtraps. WoT really lacks any meaning combat outside of laned or CQC. Meanwhile, warthunders maps are much more open and supportive of all playstyles, some maps moreso than others, but thats not an issue.
Definalty warthunder. I quit WoT not because of healthbars or spotting, which are fine if you ask me, but because of the RNG out of the ass gameplay. Your shot is RNG, your pen is RNG, your damage is RNG, youre armor is RNG. The game is RNG. While warthunder has it too, its no where even close to WoT level of broken.
Finally, the end. If you ask my opinion, the reason there MIGHT be more people playing WoT than WT (when i log into WoT, theres maybe 15000 people on at peek, and on WT its around 40,000 - 60,000, sometimes in the 70s or 80s at max max peek. Right now there is 20,000 at 1:30am in NA, which is higher than ive ever seen WoT NA servers go. But that is all NA and not international, where WoT is largest) is because WoT is the easier game to get into. Being new isnt punished as hard as it is in WT where its all about precision and skill with very little RNG backing you up.
Anyways thats my thoughts.
