Mid tree the t-34 needs to be used as an oppertunitist, while the kv1 can be used as a brawler. Only be careful of the panzer 4f2 and td's. Those usually find ways to ruin your day.
Air forces, hm, always stay below 3000m or so. Russian planes lose performance at high altitudes, and against a Gustav 109 or something at high alt, it'll be over quickly. This is historical actually, the Germans trained their pilots to not engage Russians below a specific altitude, because they knew the weakness of Russian planes. Use ground targets for the 20mm ShVAK, and tracers for the 7.62 ShKAS, air targets for the 12.7mm. Play style...hm depends on your opponent. Use your engine speed to run from Japanese and British, anything else you're safe turn fighting usually.
