Sound mod for Planes?

Just wondering if anyone knows if they will be updating the sound of the planes or knows a cool mod for them? I was watching a 64 player custom Dunkirk match (by PhlyDaily) and the planes sounded pretty amazing.

It’s a soundmod by the same guy who headed up the Epic Thunder sound mod for tanks.

I can’t recall the name offhand but it’s on his patreon, but you can only get it for a $10 subscription atm.

As someone who has it, it is pretty awesome, but nowhere near finished. Some vehicles break the engine sounds altogether and the mod has to be reinstalled, and some sounds are goofy.
(US M3 machine guns for example have the sound effect of an A-10)

Sadly the Kiwi one is borked. After a post-1.87 update all the guns sound muffled, as if 3rd person has 1st person sounds.

From what the author/developer of the mod states on the WT Live site it’s not something that is an easy or quick fix.

Thanks guys! I guess I will hold off until they make "official sounds" I just hate how some of the planes sound (the 109s sound nothing like that).

Yes, but there’s always the chance you could mess up your config or break your game’s sounds if not installed correctly.

Yeah that's a turn off for me. Sort of scared of the sound being screwed up. I guess I'll just wait until Gaijin does it

As far as I am aware, no mod has ever been endorsed by Gaijin and I'm not sure I foresee that changing any time soon.

I think what I am trying to get at, is that a lot of people have used sound mods for quite a long time (Even I did, for a short period, before an update broke it and I uninstalled it). Most try to be entirely within the games rules and provide no extra advantage.... Just saying that if Gaijin finds that some mods offer additional advantages that they deem are cheating, I honestly couldn't tell you what would happen.

Not trying to scare people, just trying to make sure people are making informed decisions.

Understood! Thank you for the heads up. I didn't even think about all that. Hopefully Gaijin enhances the plane sounds soon. Overall they are pretty horrible compared to other games.
