T-55-AM-1 worth it?

Really want to grind out later Russian tanks and I want to try top tier. Ive been considering the Shot Kal Dalet since I like Britain but I really want to try Russia. Is the T-55 premium worth the money? (When on sale)

For $60USD you can get the T-55AM-1, 2000 eagles and 15 days of premium. While a high price, it isn't a bad deal. I grinded out a considerable deal of Russia with the T-55, and while it wasn't as braindead as the Xm1, it certainly wasnt a stressful ride. The tank does not excel in any real area, it's just a very solid all rounder (like most Russian vehicles). It's easy to learn and can be very powerful when you get enough experience, it's pretty OP against 7.7 and can hold it's own in an uptier. I definitely recommend it next you find it on sale, it's a very nice and fun tank.

It's a great tank. The ATGM make for excellent long range sniping, and since they are very fast for ATGMs hitting a target with them is rather easy and gives the enemy less time to react to your shots. The speed is average, but it accelerates rather well and has great turning. The armor is nothing you can rely on, but it does have a somewhat decent chance to protect against at least HEAT, HESH and ATGMs to some degree. The APFSDS isn't top end, but good enough to deal with nearly everything you meet.

The recent sale did not extend to general store packs. Apparently PS4 had much, much better sales and even included stuff like the XM1 and T55am half off, but I'm not certain if this is true.
