5.0 for the M4A3E2 is a Death Sentence
I don't exactly understand why it was moved to this BR to begin with, but it wouldn't even be that terrible if matchmaking wasn't a fiasco.

The problem, that begins at 4.7, is that all of a sudden you get sucked up to 5.7. When you are in, for example, the 3.3 Panzer IV F2 and get uptiered to 4.3, it makes very little difference; the difference between tanks at 3.3 and 4.3 are very few, and you mostly still see the same Shermans and KV-1s that you would have seen otherwise, plus or minus a few millimeters of armor or some Soviet cannon revision.

But once you get to 4.7, things start to go south, especially for allies.

The jump from German 4.7 to 5.7 is immense, going from lineups of medium-length 75mm cannons to the Short 88mm, the long 75mm, and a whole slew of tank destroyers with the long 88mm. Armor suddenly becomes useful only on chance bounces.

Similar is the jump in the Soviet tree, the IS2, pretty indisputably better than the 5.7 german line (except for reload perhaps), has a big stupid cannon that ignores armor due to vague "overmatch" rules that apply to large shells, not to mention 180+ mm of penetration at realistic combat ranges. Again, Soviet large caliber guns from 4.3 on the KV2 up to 5.3 on the SU-152 also obey the weird large caliber mechanics.

Not to mention, there are a slew of "special" tanks at 4.7 that have severely power-creeped cannons. The Breda 501 offers "virtually the Tiger cannon" at 4.0 on a substantially more mobile chassis. The M4 Tipo IC offers a 17-Pounder on the Axis side. The M4 SA50 offers 200mm of penetration on a devastating solid shot round, while the M4 FL-10 offers similar performance, but with an autoloader.

What these vehicles have in common is their ability to make short work of an M4A3E2, many of them substantially below its old BR of 4.7.

The issue of moving the M4A3E2 to 5.0 is that now you are virtually guaranteed 5.7 matchmaking, as the majority of Axis vehicles in this range fall in the X.7 battle ratings. Thus, you get to enjoy maps that don't make sense for you, like Kursk, Sands of Sinai, Fields of Normandy, etc. all without armor and without a cannon.

I dunno, I'm sure people were angry when, in one match out of a thousand, M4A3E2's got put in bulk 3.7 matches, but now even at 3.7 you can run around with Italian 90mm cannons and Russian 85mm canons.

What do you guys think.

M4A3E2 @ 5.0 was the right thing to do.

Why, I feel bad for American players especially in the M4A3E2 76 at 6.7. They just get sealclubbed.

Have you played Warthunder? How often do you see 220 spawn cost in a heavy? Maybe one match in ten?

ammm cry me a river .... if you cant handle +1.0 uptier and play, you shouldn't play.

I have over 15k of games, how many do you have - less, thought so, and my stats will be better than yours on any metric that matters for tanks. luckly IDC about stats but yes I play war thunder your point?

Its ok to have different Opinion but the moment you become a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it, Your Opinion is no longer valid. Plus for someone who appears to be wearing a ADF uniform I really thought you would know better, But yet education is key I guess.

This because almost every 3.7 match had 4-5 Jumbos, it completely ruined very fun bracket.

It was more to do with change to formula for calculation of the rounds, to my knowledge.

It got moved back to 5.0 before they changed the formula if I remember right.

yea some good points> m4a2 at 3.7 was a ****

easy kill if flanked, but forced to go head to head w a 3.7 tank was just mean>only chance was a lucky mG port shot

let's look at all available statistics,
https://thunderskill.com/en/vehicle/us_m4a3e2_sherman_jumbo
I'd say 63% winrate for RB ain't too bad.
Not getting 12+ kills all the time,
also, in case anyone got confused, the Br hasn't been updated on the site yet

https://thunderskill.com/en/vehicle/us_m4a3e2_76w_sherman_jumbo
64.4% winrate AND a decent average K/D ratio
Br hasn't been updated either

It deserves to be at 5.0. At 4.7 it could nullify almost every type of round and the MG port shot trap didn't always work. You're also forgetting that the American guns all got buffed so the short 75mm has better performance now.

even if we ignore the stats, the player performances were off the charts

I wouldnt call a stat swap a buff on the 75mm, still doesnt warrant an increase to 5.0.

if players are not suffering by the change, then I don't see why you're complaining
