Wyvern vs Spitfire Mk 24 Griffon

I know that the Spitfire is 1.7 BR higher, but, Wyvern still looks like a plane that does well in the higher BR's I think.

So, im looking at getting a plane... two or three for british.

So, is the Spitfire worth grabbing? Looks like a good payload for my ground realistic and if people tell me anything, Spitfires are great dog fighters.

Not to mention, This particular spitfire just screams panty dropper to me.

In air RB it has been nerfed to the point of being slightly underpowered for 6.7, but in SB it is fine.

Ground RB — I don’t know, I haven’t taken it. However, consider the RP-3s are only useful against light targets. The 3 500lb bombs are the better option for medium+ tanks.

Anything you know about the Tempest Mk V (Vickers) with the 47 MM Ground pounders?



What about the Fireflys? They worth grabbing or nah?

Might just stick with the hellcat if anything.

Don’t have the tempest 47mm yet

Fireflies are good, but I wouldn’t use them outside of the 4.0 range, as simply the wyvern and those planes are better.

Well, I decided the Hellcat premium will have to suffice and I can jus use the Wyvern in the higher BR's. 7.3 should still see it some use not to mention 6.7

The tempest vickers are great in Air RB, you can wreack l,pillbox and all tank type with ease, but totally worthless on Ground as the AP rounds dont have great post pen effects, you have to snipe crew and module at 400+ kph which is a hassle even if you're a good shot.

In ground rb I can bomb and sometimes I get lucky in 1v1 vs planes, that said, i start the 1v1 vs planes thinking i'm going to lose and mostly do.

I got my 1st 4 kills in one bomb run the other day with the wyvern, people really should not all sit together........

I find it very good at killing tanks, I also find it (prob me being crap) very good at getting shot out the air by other planes.

If you are any good with rockets, I'm not, you can have more goes at killing stuff.

no dont get the wyvern honestly i have wyvern you relaly cant play it on air rb since the plane is slow im for real its slow and u cant turn and u will always be raped by 109s and fw 190s get the plagis spitfire and dont ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ touch the mb.5 get the premium spitfire grind you way all to seafury or something dont buy the wyvenr its not worth it except for tank rb but dont buy it for air rb

you are playing the wyvern completely wrong...

the wyvern uses an early turbine, that means best performance is at sea level where it is amongst the fastest props in the game and it gets worse as you climb, it also weighs 7 tons (thats 3 tons more than even the notoriously large p47) so of course its not going to turn well. just treat it like a jet and fly straight lines keeping your speed as high as possible and only turning when you have outrun any pursuers. i have won matches as last man standing hitting ground targets on the other end of the map from where enemies are and being the fastest aircraft on the field at low altitude always staying one step ahead of pursuit, even picking off lone fighters when the enmy team splits up to try and find you as it is a respectable fighter if kept to the aformentioned straight line hit and run style

keep running, just like any other aircraft at its br range the p47 can only keep up with the wyvern at that altitude while it retains its dive energy. if you can force a chase the p47 will lose eventually, if it gets the drop on you your only real option is something drastic like dropping airbrakes and forcing an overshoot but that leaves you dead in the water if he comes for a second go. this is all completely ignoring two facts of that situation though, firstly you flew under a p47 which from low altitude you should see long before he can see you, and second for a p47 to be coming that low your team must have already lost
