I guess i can see this. I dont find WoT to be all that visually worst with max settings and the arcade feel and additional mechanics make me prefer it when i am in an arcade mood. Things like artillery, weakpoints, and availability of tanks i don't have already in War Thunder is a fun change of pace. But then again, I do not play it often and do not play AB at all so my perspective is different.
i dont now man the point was that he couldnt just join the air force and he had an *inserts some eye disease*. And even if he hadnt he could still be disqualified by other paremeters, its not most of the people who enlists that can be pilots.
I actually kinda like AB. It's good for a quick game when I don't want to sideclimb for 20 minutes. There's none of that in AB and in GFAB low tiers are kinda fun now the Jumbo isn't terrorising 4.7 and 3.7 matches. Plus it's much better than WoT because it doesn't have that borked spotting system, paper tanks, health bars, vehicles feeling like RC cars instead of actual tanks and most importantly this game doesn't have an arty class, the latter is probably the worst mechanic I've ever seen in a PvP game other than CVs in WoWs.
just the nature of the species.........sadly..........
I have played a few rb games and im open to play rb just because of my squadron, when they want me to complete the squad.
In my squadron there are lots of players that play 50% AB and 50% RB, they are my friends and really more experienced players than iam, they are both good players at those 2 modes and they say to me RB is to relax AB is to feel the rush.
There is no element of surprise in AB, flanking can be really fustrating, there are no nations vs nations in AB, you will face everything that there is, reaction time to fire is much shorter in arcade, also longrange shots you need to calculate in AB, because aim indicator is off at those ranges, tanks move faster in AB, airsupport can rain for everybody in short amount of time and the maps in AB are shorter.
In ab i can use mbt like leopard1 and stomp the enemy team easly, because im used to, just wanted to see a full time rb player do the same as i do with a mbt like leo1.
People underestimate AB players and the mode itself too much sometimes...
Playing mainly RB i already know how and where i should shoot but if an aim indicator is there i find myself trying to rely on it even at short ranges and taking far to long to fire.
Like taking AA out? AB has plenty of it and no one really care if they loose the plane so they don't really try to dodge your shots
Like to play sneaky and/or flanck fast? RB got you covered with no marker
Like not caring about needing SP to go back in? AB & SB got you covered
Want tactical & long range combat with incentive to comunicate with your team? SB got you covered
Don't want the lack of rangefinder or parts to handicape you to much? AB got you covered
Want a middle ground to have fun in both tank & plane (not talking about CAS spam)? RB got you covered
I play mostly Realistic and Simulator Battles, but I don’t care if people play Arcade Battles. In fact I would encourage it, if a player enjoys the gamemode.
There should be 3 gamemodes to appeal to the playerbase —
Arcade: fast action, pure gameplay mode. For players who appeal to this.
Realistic: slower, more realistic and tatical gameplay but still fun and decently paced. For players who want more realism, but to the point of still fun and balanced gameplay, and simplified controls.
Simulator: slower paced combat, much more realistic, while still maintaining a degree of balance. Realistic controls, limited view, larger maps, and more. For players who want a more Simulator like experience.
Players should play what they think is more fun.
What I do have a problem with, is players playing the gamemode that obviously isn’t for them, then complaining about aspects of said gamemode.
Common examples (RB):
“It takes 20 minutes to climb, it’s too long!”
“Why are there planes in ground battles!”
“This map is too big!”
“I hate everything that isn’t urban CQC!”
No it doesn’t take 20 minutes, it’s on average 3-4 minutes (take a stopwatch and see yourself), just go play arcade! There are problems with every gamemode in the game, but these are not the problem. It’s called Realistic Battles you illiterate #%*#s!
Not as often with SB, but I very occasionally hear this with SB, but a fractional amount with Realistic Battles. I am sure there are some AB stuff that RB players complain about too when they go play AB — I play AB occasionally, and I do have some complaints... but it isn’t my gamemode, so I’m not going to walk into your house uninvited and critique your interior decorating.
But anyways, 3 gamemodes for 3 styles of gameplay. Neither one is truly superior over the other. Neither is even that much harder than the other: every gamemode is easier and harder in some aspects, AB is the hardest gamemode in the game in some aspects, some in RB, and SB is generally harder overall due to restrictive controls and views, but even it is easier in some aspects.
Players should be encouraged to play what they want.
