It's not only Sim, RB EC air is back again!
Sure, I used to work for Oculus. You should be fine with a 1060 but the graphics quality isn't That great on WT
Yeah I dont play sim only rb. Sim is too hard for me with kb+m
Probably more to do with the lower resolution of an Oculus when compared with a normal computer monitor
Bit of both really, I imagine WT isn't optimised very well so the lower end the GPU the more performance hit it will take. The resolution in VR is horrible. It's really hard to spot enemies. It's awesome in dog fights though.
It has a resolution of 1280 x 1440 per eye (since they're seperate screens) It's not bad by any means, not the best VR headset resolution (one or two double it but they're the exception, most headsets are around the same resolution)
It's not quite 1080p, it's about the resolution of my old DVI-D screen (1.76 million pixels vs 1.84 million) and it's much closer to your face, so it'll look worse than an equal resolution further away (up to a certain distance, after which it's probably not possible to see it properly)
WT is optimised really well for normal screens, VR may struggle a bit since it has twice as many screens and has to run at about 90fps to feel comfortable IIRC. It also has to interpret actions, which puts more strain on your PC (though probably not much)
I've tried out an oculus, just not on War thunder
Thanks bro. But is it possible to achieve 90 fps with a gtx 1060?
War thunder is actually very well optomized for vr down to even replacing plane texures with a black dot to help vr players see due to the low resolution which is a big help in the spotting department (its actually too good which gives you an unfair advantage especially since you can see through clouds despite the enemy not being spotted)
Vr headsets ALL have a bad resolution. Remember that the screen sare very close to your eye. To understand what vr lookslike, put your monitor 1 inch from your eyes. You will notice that you see the individual pixals. This is also true in vr. Even in the pimax's 4k resolution per eye you can see the pixils making everything kind of pixilated. Its like playing on a 720p 42 inch tv 2 feet away from your face. You see the pixals and things like 4k resolutions vs low res textures don't actually look any different and everything is blury and i am talking about the pimax which has the best resolution on the market right now.
Vr will probibly not look good for a while while hardware catches up. I mean for a really good looking experience i would predict that a 16k resolution per eye would be required for you to not see pixels in vr and i can tell you they are very noticable, but you do get use to it and the 3d world and immersion is worth simulating 20 60 vision
So when this event ends the game mode will no longer be available?
Yep, until they decide to drag it out again, invariably on a weekend when I can't play it XD
