radar lead indicator
So to my understanding any plane with tracking radar will allow you to create a lead indicator for guns when in range right? I have used the F3D and the F6F which are stated to have the tracking radar. I have seen youtube vids with them using it as well but I cannot seem to be able to get it to pop on an enemy plane. Am I missing something? I have the keys for "find radar target" and the other radar command prompt but it doesnt seem to work even when I am in range...

Are you absolutely certain that the enemies are in tracking range (the darker portion of the radar screen), and not just within search range?
Pretty sure because 1) in the wiki for the f3 it mentioned 4000m as the max for the tracking radar and the target indicator in test flight showed the enemy plane at .4 km

Do I have to change radar "modes" from a search to a track version in order to lock on? cuz i understand that the f3d has 2 modes but there doesnt seem to be a visual indicator of what mode im in when i hit the key to change the mode....
Do I have to select "select radar target to lock on" and then "lock on to radar target"? or can i just go for the second option right off the bat?

I have yet to actually use the F3D but I do know how to use the F6F-5N.

First you have to have the Radar turned on... then hit the key for 'Select radar target to lock on'.

Then after you do that, hit the key for 'Lock radar target on' but do be aware that the Radar Lead will only 'lock' around and below 1km.

Also you have to keep the aircraft in front of your path so the radar can get a lock.

Ive been trying it and have done exactly what you describe, no matter how close it dosent give a lead, i would bet they removed it
