Air rb so boring
So whats exactly fun on air rb? You are basically sitting in queue 5 minutes while "climbing" or whatever then there is maximum 1-3 minutes of "action" and thats basically it, after that everyone is dead and no one can spawn again.

Where is the fun on this gamemode?

Meanwhile on arcade its actually fun, lots of dogfighting, general fun. Devs should make air rb more fun.

Play nicely now, they're just putting a thought out there for discussion and inviting opinions, that's what these threads are for. No need to be nasty about it, this isn't the YouTube comments section. This poster could come up with something profound, but if people get on their case, maybe they won't post it and we all miss out. Be nice, okay?

You sound like a nanny. The OP just doesn't find air RB fun, there's no discussion to be had.

No, I sound like a grown up. Maybe you'll find out yourself one day? Just stop with the arrogant, 'know all' attitude. It's their thread, they can say what they want.

They can say what they want just as much as I'm free to criticize what they say. There is no argument or discussion to be had over someone's personal preference, OP doesn't like air RB so he just shouldn't play it.

I promised Comrade Putin that I would take my cyanide pill before giving away sensitive material + plans. He told me that I would receive the Hero Of Russia medal if it came to that. I want to be buried in full uniform with the medal fastened to my forehead and in an open coffin. LONG LIVE MOTHER RUSSIA !!!

At current map sizes, Air RB heavily favours climb and turn rates over top speed in propeller planes. No wonder Bf109s and most japanese planes dominate the mode. It clearly needs bigger maps for balance, but the " I NEED DUMB, CHEAP ADRENALINE ACTION RIGHT NAO" mindset of players makes that impossible since 10 minutes of battle per match is the most they're able to tolerate.

They could have a nice alternative in which the map sizes could get a little smaller but the planes spawn in the air in a realistic combat scenario. Instead of both airforces taking off at bases 20km or so from each other then battling at low altitudes they could have a situation where you have a team of bomber escorts spawned up high and your goal is to take out the enemies before they can destroy your bombers whereas the other team would have the requirement of destroying the bombers and fighter compliment.

Would add in an extra bit of realism, provide some more use for bombers as more of a gunship rather than designated spacebar presser, allows high altitude fighters to shine a little, provides some fast adrenaline for the players who hate the climb, and also rejects the climb meta.

Could of course use some tweaks here and there and possibly additional gamemodes for CAS planes instead so that strat bombers and high alt fighters would be in one queue and CAS and low alt fighters would be in another queue essentially.

No wonder there is so many planes in ground rb, air rb sucks ass so they go there.

In your opinion, how could it be fixed? I need to know to tell Gaijin so we Tankist do not have to deal with this crap.
Ground RB is a combined arms gamemode. Deal with it buddy. Having a plane is a tactical advantage so you should be bringing one in any case.

Air rb is next to boring really, its always around 1 to 2 minutes action and thats it, there is some ppl already that spawn go straight head on and try to get a kill then next game, if thats nowadays "fun" gaming experience then the situation is worse than I tough lol

Wonder why no extra spawns, remove markers?? why are there markers if in ground rb there arent any?, spawns way too far away, etc.

Are you sure you aren't confusing air RB for air AB in the battle duration? RB matches usually have a good 5~ minutes of constant action, then can go on for a bit longer or even forty minutes unless the map was too small for the BR.

Markers are still present in air RB, and the spawns are usually too close imo.

Air RB is very short if you die in the first clash, because there's no respawn and it only takes a very few minutes to get close enough to be splatted.

It's pretty long if you actually survive most of the way to the end of the match.

(If you die fast, it's really both short and boring - you spend minutes flying to the fight, and seconds getting shot down and sent back to the garage.)

Most players don't understand what the purpose of fighters were during WW2
how about we go back to the very basics of fighting strategy

during WW1, two opposing forces of fighters would meet head-on and then turnfight together.
Casualties were high on both sides.
Aces would rack up kills but ultimately die from tiny mistakes.

The solution to this was never to break formation. If the squadron stayed together then their two lewis guns became 50 lewis guns all aiming as one unit.
Squadrons that utilised this technique had far higher survival rates.

Because of this knowledge developed from the great war, many fighters were designed to face combat in this way. However, as the general public dreamt of nimble fighters spinning around and landing on the tail of a dastardly Hun. So we see two schools of thought.
These schools of though materialised themselves in the forms of such aircraft as the magnificent Hawker Hurricane (designed to perform best in a united squadron) and the more famous Supermarine Spitfire (a nimble fighter that is arguably better than the Hurricane but in fact took a back seat to the venerable Hurricane which pulled most of the weight during the battle of Britain)

Turnfighting is more exhilirating and more publicised than the common reality, which predominantly involved lone fighters being engaged by five to ten enemy fighters flying in formation.
Rarely would fighters meet in equal numbers, as this was a risky business and often resulted in high casualty rates, no matter the skill.
The reality is that you can't remain lucky forever. No matter the how experienced you are, turnfighting is too dangerous

In fact, this can be seen by the fighter designs of nations that participated in the great war. Germany, Britain and America produced many fighters that valued speed over maneuverability. This fighters ultimately became successes, such as the P-51 Mustang, a relatively maneuverable fighter that had amazing energy retention.

In contrast, countries that did not have significant air power during WW1 approached the second world war less conventionally.
Japan built many magnificent turnfighters. But ultimately, the energy-fighting hellcat came out successor because it had the energy retention to decide when and when not to engage

Spude Nov 5, 2019 @ 7:25am
If only first 3-5 minutes were sped-up 100% in-game
Spawn.
Lift off
Put your plane on angle that you want, to the direction you want
Open up Steam overlay
Browse internet for 5 minutes
Pull down overlay
Commence actual gameplay

Those first 5 minutes or so are pure timewaste.
