Locking on to friendy
Is this supposed to be a thing?
A friendly flew past as I tried to lock on to a plane. It locked on to him. It’s really annoying

It’s only been today that it has been locking on to friendly planes. I was just asking if this is how it is supposed to be or is it a bug

yeah it's been this buggy since release, was a known bug on the dev server already

It only locks on to friendly is if i scope on to it and lock or if i was locked onto something and they flew past each other some times it will lock and follow the friendly

Like air to air missiles, radar does not know the difference between friend or foe. All it knows is that it's an aircraft so it can lock onto it. Just be careful when trying to lock onto targets when your teammates are close to the enemy.

Also, use the radar search along with "select radar target to lock on" in your key binds to ensure you lock onto the target you want. It will lock to the one with the square box around it on your search radar.

yeah this is why i haven't run into this earlier....i was using these buttons as you suggested in the m249. it has a massive arc to lock on so it never happened. but now using the adats i have a tiny arc and am just using the lock on button mostly to save time. thanks for this info guys, helps me narrow down the issue :)
