If you play in RB or higher, they will also simply break apart at higher speeds.
For the Emperor!
Even if you're in an American plane, you can slow down, turn hard, and watch them exceed their G limit
Hahahahahha, no.
They are not very effective airplanes at all (there are so many situations where they feel helpless it isn't even funny), but they absolutely annihilate inexperienced pilots (it was the same in reality). If they are heavily outplaying you it means you need to improve your tactics and knowledge.
You don’t outmaneuver a Japanese plane. Just don’t even try, their heavy bombers even are more maneuverable than their counterparts. Just don’t.
But no, they for the most part don’t have great speed, you can outdive most of them.
True, most of them aren't very fast, but just trying to outrun every ♥♥♥ plane you meet is gonna go awry at some point.
The scenario is actually why I started preferring maneuverability to speed. A slow, agile fighter with a big enough energy advantage can still successfully BnZ a normally-faster plane.
Also why I know how to beat them- the zero pilot needs to be very wary of Gs in that situation.
The stuff you can pull off in a Zero is insane. You can loop to avoid a head-on so fast that you end up on your opponent's six as he passes trying to shoot you, prophang from 1km below and still stick to the opponent's six anyways, do reversals no one else can, turn with 3 different planes and somehow evade all their guns, et cetera.
I have my doubts about the BR of the A6M5s being fair (and haven't played them), but the A6M2 and A6M3 are definitely competitive at their BRs (I played them). If you're above the 'Murican fast bois (and you ought to be, anything but P-63s, P-38s and P-39s you outclimb with little sweat in a Zero) then you definitely can deal with their speed. Same for Russians, thought you should not linger too long at low altitude or else they will eventually outrun you even if you had an energy advantage at the beginning.
