How do I adjust the sensitivity of my joystick?
I'm using a Thrustmaster HOTAS X and I'm bouncing all over the place when flying. I see directions for gamepads, but nothing for joysticks.

Set the control sensitivities to 100% on all axes. Set non-linearty to 1.0 on all axes, then adjust that setting to taste in test flights. While you have the non-lin at 1.0 make sure to set any deadzone adjustments needed. If after all of this you're still bouncing, you're either using something awful (like a Spitfire) or you're being too aggressive with the controls.

Never set any of the sensitivity options below 100% unless you're using a twist stick for rudder control, in which case i can't help you there.

Yeah, the Spitfire are completely unusable in Sim with a Joystick.... they are just so damn unstable and broken.... there's no way in real life that plane could have flown like that... they would have been useless...

They're not unusable, but I'd still steer clear of them. I became very accustomed to their FM while spading them, and now I can't seem to fly anything else properly anymore, which is irritating to say the least.
Thanks for the help, it is responding much nicer now. I can land and take-off, if only I could learn to stay alive in the air in this thing.

I forgot to mention before, but lower non-linearty is better though very hard to get used to. As you raise it higher you get easier control in small movements but larger movements become more sensitive than normal and harder to control.

Well, that explains a lot of things; too bad I didn't find this thread when I was trying (and failing) to fly in War Thunder. Glad to know it's not just me, but wow, talk about horrid flight stick optimization. In every other flight combat game I've played, from World of Warplanes to IL-2 Sturmovik, and Elite Dangerous and even DCS World, the default flight axis settings were more than sufficient. Granted, I had to change button layouts on some of those games, but I could fly perfectly fine otherwise; here in War Thunder, the default flight settings are practically unplayable, wobbling everywhere for no reason at all. Think the most I've ever had to do with actual flight settings in any game was swap the roll and yaw axis in Star Citizen, that's it. Hmm... yep, my opinion of War Thunder still stands; it's a title where you get what you "paid" for

Yeah the whole wobble thing seems to be Gaijins way of balancing aircraft.... you know... we can't have the Spitfire running riot in Sim battles... instead because Gaijin break everything, the Spitfires are almost completely avoided in Sim in my experiences so far.

nah, gaijin just doesn't care about sim, barely any of their target whales play it.

Spicy Meatball, were these in-game settings? As far as I am aware the Hotas X does not have adjustable settings (A fact I wish I was aware of before purchasing :( )

You must double-click on the yaw/pitch/roll "AXES", and you have these options available... in war thunder "controls" options.
