Is the Firecrest good ?
I was looking at the plane in preview mode, and went to X-Ray mode. This plane has a Bristol Centarus 18-Cylinder Engine yet its speed is comparable to the Firebrand rather than a Tempest II with the same engine (i think) . The Armament contrary to what others may say looks rather good in my opinion. 600 rounds of 50 cals but they are the M3 version. Terrible on jets but terrific on props like the F-82E Mustang .

I've had 2 games in it so far in air AB, and am 8/1 currently. The guns at 4.0 are mean, very mean. Can't testify for RB yet.

Alright mate. Thanks, I appreciate the response.
A little heavy so compensate in tight turns. The two m3's are like having two MG151's. The guns are nice at its BR. Use it as a boom and zoomer and youll have a good time

Thank you. I have 2,000 GE left over from last years discounts still lol. I might buy it since i'm not in squadron.
Seeing as this page comes up on google search, I'll add some thoughts here...

One of the best stock belt options in the game, and totally the best stock belts for UK planes which are generally tototally miserable and underwhelming before belt unlocks, she has almost the same as Universal as stock!

But, what we have here that most people seem to miss....is American M20 Tracers in a UK plane. Demonfire she should be called!

The other thing everybody seems to forget, or more likely simply don't know how to use properly, are high speed deployable combat flaps and....an Air Brake!!!

Cracking open your Air Brake with a more maneuverable plane on your 6 does 2 instant things to the situation you are in:
- You probably will have your harraser blast past you as there is no way they can slow down as quickly as you
- You instantly get a tighter turning circle, and even more with combat flaps deployed seperately or same time

Side climbing, then gauging the unfolding battle before ENgaging is the way to fly this girl, head ons are not a fantastic idea but can work, TRACER BELTS!!!, using your massive acceleration and top speed for escape or baiting (let them get speed to catch, start a turn and let them blow past as you pop AB, retract and burst fire)

Is really, really enjoyable. It has a strange dmg model wich makes for some reason quite tanky. Is also quite fast. The only drawback are the 50cals,they are really powerfull, they are also a mod,so they have high rate of fire, but u have only 2,with limited ammo, but again, really strong

U also have airbreaks, wich are xtremely usefull when u grounpound with rp3s and no more english 300km breakable flaps. The fflaps on that thing are really strong, they dont even break at 500.

Is a reallu solid plane both as a fighter and CAS

Also is 3.3
I haven't flown this little gem in forever. Thanks for the reminder. Shes really fun in AB i must say. Those M3's burn through rounds quick.
