The panzer4 series has a great gun with a great reload mounted on tanks with at least decent speed and slightly inferior armor. Youre essentially complaining the panzer4 G (which is hardly any different than the F2) isnt perfect because some tanks have sloped armor (and far inferior guns might i add) or theyre heavy tanks (which also have inferior guns) so theyre not as easy to pen
Not sure what to tell you. And the hetzer is meant to be bouncy from the front, helps make up for its completely defenseless sides and rear.
What I'm saying is its got a heavier armor than F2 which makes it a lot slower in speed and hence inadequate for face to face combat or running combat.
It actually feels like a downgrade from F2 in this game because even though its armor would be good in 1941 here in the game its facing tanks from 1943 and later in that situation it drives and rotates too slow which means its a easy target in active combat unless hidden in a lot of cover.
Ah, I see the problem. The F2 is undertiered as it is, which is why the G feels like such a downgrade. The F2 should be 3.7 by all measures.
The extra plates on the G add a ton to the overall weight and according to the stat card it does reduce its max speed. Since the stat cards aren't meant to be representations of what tanks will do the 3 km/h difference is probably noticeable if you really try to notice it. Also the KwK40 L43/48 is rivaled by earlier guns in a few trees. The British 6-pounder, while not having explosive mass and ~20mm less penetration, is very capable, the Soviet Zis-2 on both the Zis-30 and LVT, the 57mm M1, and both Ho-Ni TDs. The 17-pounder also makes its first appearance at the F2's br.
The Panzer IVs should definitely not be driven into close quarters situations though. None but the short 75s and the IV H are really capable of brawling and the IV H is only capable due to its currently broken turret.
The F2 really doesn't have any reason to be 3.7. I doubt it being +0.4br higher would impact the F2 much but doing that would create a gap in the German line.
The F2, was also had pretty weak armor, the panzer 4s aren't really supposed to rank shots, they have a goon gun with good reload, either stay back and try to snipe, take cover and cover your weakpoints, or flank.
Of course they're easy to kill, they're boxes, and glass cannons.
