Like everyone else said, it's a marginal improvement. Consider it a backup.

Unless they changed something, the turret is only stronger against CE rounds, so it's only really useful against the handful of ATGMs with over 800mm penetration (or does the normal M1 only have 600mm of CE protection on the turret?)

I prefer M1 over the imp1, M1 i got the impression that its a bit faster and better armoured, i have insane stats with my M1, compared to my imp1.
