How is Warthunder In VR?

I picked up a Rift S and Reddit is full of discussion on other flight Sims like Xplane11 and DCS world but I never see anybody there mention how Warthunder plays in a Headset, and I'm curious if its worth trying with just a gamepad?

Here's my experience with my HTC Vive. I've recently got back into VR and play sim battle almost daily in VR.

It's very fun to fly, but you're at a huge disadvantage. You cannot zoom in, you just see blurry dots buzzing around, then when they're close enough to rending in, they are almost invisible for a short period whilst they get closer.

So it's quite easy to track targets in a turn fight, but it's hard to judge how far away they are as they are just blurry black smudges. Still, it hasn't stopped me.

The very worst part is looking for ground targets, they're damn near on invisible unless you're going 150mph at ground level and then you have to TRY to keep your eyes on them whilst turning for an attack run, but good luck lining up an invisible target in the cross hairs from the cockpit.

So The headset is very sharp on details about the same as the Vive pro think Screeen door pretty much invisible at this point. is this pretty much the same experience?

It might be sharper than my current Vive but i seriously doubt it will make much difference.

some day I would love to try that new HP Reverb with it's 2160x2160 per eye, seems perfect for flight sims.

I was looking at the Pimax 2k and 4k. Everything is too small on the 4k version so everyone says you can see much better using the 2k one.

I really want a better headset for this game but I can justify buying ANOTHER VR headset to play this game when the devs have no interest in improving the VR experience (or it is at least a really low priority)

It really adds a lot to flight games like this, hopefully it gets more attention from the Devs as Vr gains traction, seems like less than a year ago vr had barely 100k concurrent users on steam now it's pushing more than a million and closing on 2 million.

Hey Just a bit of an update, So My first impressions playing with the Rift S are much better than I was expecting, Seeing planes is much easier than when I tried some years ago on a CV1 witch had that annoying Screen Door effect making it easy to loose distant planes, the clarity feels more akin to playing on a 1080p screen maybe a little better.

There is a bit of an adapting period now that keeping your eyes aligned down your sights is up to you not being locked in by a static view, But aside from the obvious situational and positional awareness you get in vr I found the true depth perception made me a lot more accurate without a lead indicator as I was able to instinctually judge bullet drop in relation to the target and bring my self on target much faster.

but the best part is the goosebumps you get sitting in one of these classic Warbirds like your really there and feeling yourself become one with the plane as you get into your flow.

Looking at the front page it dosnt seem to have windows mixed or reverb capabilities

If youre into flight sims give IL2 a go, thats pretty awesome in vr, but be prepared it is a sim and its hard

I have this but never tried it.... i keep scaring myself when thinking about setting everything up agian (joystick-wise)

My experience with the normal rift was good however the game would make me sick and it wouldn't look too good due to the resolution.

I have the HOTAS T-Flight X and most of it is set up from the get go, In fact I just needed to select that I was using a joy stick and it applied all the controls automatically.

I have an X56 and no game yet seems to have them working from the get go... :(
