Need a little help
So last couple of games when i take out my p47 and i bomb it kills me.
So to make it clear i press space 2 times to drop my load ;) and then it blows up in my face ;).
but seriously now thats exactly what happens every time, i dont get it.
my bomb activation is 1.5 and its not that i get killed, its just vehicle lost.
its weird because i did not have this problem in the past, i' ve had succesfull bomb strikes.
Just last game i bombed a poor tiger and watched the replay of my bomb dropping of the wing and then immediatly blowing up, my belly bomb was still attached, got the kill but still vehicle lost.

Any help on this would be appreciated.
Run to live, live to fly guys ;)

I use a 2-second activation time on almost every plane, 5 if I'm using a nuke.
Last I checked the assault fuse is broken.

1.5s is enough unless you either fly very slowly (<350km/h) or drop something really big - on my Ju 288 for example I have to set it to two seconds on the 1800kg bombs. The only thing that gets an assault fuse is the Fritz-X when playing naval or in the very rare case when I bring out a Pe-8 which drops from >500m altitude anyway.

If your bombs blow up instantly then the timer is not set correctly and the game uses an assault fuse. Try setting the timer again. Verify game files to make sure nothing is corrupted. If it still keeps happening after that, open a thread in the tech support branch of the official forum.

sub-350km is pretty standard for ground attack for the majority of tiers

Not really. At least not for me. It depends on the plane of course, an attack with a StuKa or an IL-2 won't be much faster because the plane simply cannot go fast, but with most CAS runs I do I am at 450-500km/h. Do-335, Bf-109, P-47, P-51, AD-2/4, F8F, A2D-1, Ju-288, He-219, A6M5, Ki-87, just to name the props I regularily use that I can recall right now.
Going slow is an invitation to even a bad SPAA player to shoot you down, and as long as you don't exceed 500km/h by much all of them can be comfortably pulled out of the dive, some even at way higher speeds.

450-500 kmh is wing-rip speed for most planes when you're doing CAS maneuvering. I'll even hit airbrakes if I can in order to be more precise and get more time to see targets because the chances of getting a halfway-competent SPAAG player are slim to none.

I had a battle where I was trying to dogfight, a friendly wirbel kept almost hitting me instead, so I flew at the wirbel with the enemy fighter behind me to give them a super easy target.
The wirbel still missed every shot and I died.

Not for any of the planes I just named. Even if I pull up as much as possible I have not ripped wings with any of them in ANY match I've ever flown. And according to my service record for RB I have well over 1000 ground kills on those planes alltogether (cream of crop are the two Arados, though, with over 760 kills added together).

Anecdotal evidence is no evidence at all. I see crappy SPAA players every single day who wouldn't hit a plane if it rolled past them on the ground 30m away. Many of them are so bad that you wan't to ask them "why do you even bother taking an SPAA into your lineup?" But relying on them being bad is still bad practice, and minimizing your exposure time and making sure you have the speed for a quick breakaway is important.

Just had it happen again
one bomb strike perfect, democracy delivered.
The next game bombs again blow up when leaving plane.
I will try to set the fuses again and maybe on 2.0 and get back.

Thanks ahead guys

2 second fuse for anything nearing 500kg bomb should be enough to get to safe distance whiel keepign the enemy close enough to get the full blast

For bigger bomb you can only fly faster (~400+kmh) for the same timer, otherwise they might be able to get to safety or mitigate the damage enough to survive

Hey man thanks for the reply:
the problem is though, its not about blastradius if that is what you mean.
The bombs just go of immediatly after release like 1 millimeter after dropping from the bombrack.
I just showed a clip of this to my gf and she was like hu did somebody hit you with like bullets or something? but the replay shows its not that either.

but thanks anyway im gonna try and find a way to put that video on here somewhere so people can see what the problem is with the bombs, if they can excuse my flying :p.

which P-47 is it? Someone here might be able to try to replicate it.

The p47D -25:
So i just had a match where i dropped my bombs at 380 km/h
they were spot on, problem was me belly bomb once again exploded when leaving the plane.
I have a video of this now, cause it sucks losing a plane every time i bomb somebody.
