I am really paranoid when it comes to my pc and related stuff, so when I saw than WT is gonna need an external program to run my paranoia triggered. I have several questions about this, because for this kind of stuff I actually refused to play some games in the past and I really didn't want to stop playing War Thunder. I mean, in my opinion WT was always fine and all of a sudden this is REQUIRED to play the game? Why? Yes, you're gonna say another layer of protection, I already saw that, but why now, just like that?
Also the more important stuff:
How intrusive is this? It runs in the background, doing its thing, but what can it actually do? I really hate having to run stuff in the background while I play, especially not really needed stuff, so I tried to do some research and on the good side (I guess), I saw that a lot of games use this. On the other hand, I also read that this can take screenshots and make them public, which may include private information in the background while the game is running? KEEP IN MIND that this could be completely wrong and might be false information, but still I'd rather be cautious.
Can a trustworthy source elaborate a bit more about this?

As I said I HATE being forced to have extra programs, especially when they were NEVER needed so far, so even having more than 2k hours in this, and being the most played game on steam, I actually thought of dropping it because of this.

And please don't come with the crap argument that I might be a hacker that is hating on an Anti Cheat software... Please don't.

Clearly the system isn't effective enough, that is why Gaijin are incorporating EAC. That is why there is a lengthy list of names of players every month. Gaijin are currently only really relying on people reporting cheaters, because if I am seeing and reporting cheaters at BR 9/10 then their system is clearly not up to scratch.

Comments like you just made really puts doubts on how 'honestly' you play.

And as far as having to not have some programs open when playing, well tough. You will just have to adapt or leave WT alone if it irks you THAT much.
i never said i was opposed to having any extra Anti cheat, but they could have picked literally any other system except EAC, because EAC is objectively trash.

In your opinion. I've no experience with that product. Gaijin knows they're playing with fire... this is their source of income - and that ain't a game.

It's as if he doesn't understand that Gaijin knows what would happen to their business if they alienated too many players. They've concluded that their best interests lie with imposing these changes. Are they right? Are they wrong? We'll find out.
gaijin is often wrong, see - literally of top end Match making, post br 3.0 balance, uptiers, bad maps, etc. Gaijin doesnt know what will happen to their business if you were to take a look at literally all of their decisions in the past few years.

Don't go off on a tangent. We're talking about one decision Gaijin has made - not the other issues.

People are still playing. Still spending their money. Gaijin is looking at their bottom line. What they think will happen if they do not make serious inroads into curbing cheating.
Their decision will either pay off - or drive people away. They've had to have considered player reaction, and apparently they think they will gain more than they lose. Such is life.

Here is one that says why some Asus motherboards have issues and a way you can play by closing a task.

The only question I have is how long are bans going to be? I like PUBGs approach with 10 year bans.

I'm not sure how they can actually enforce a ban anyone for very long... WAN IP addresses can't be used, neither can MAC addresses. They can only ban accounts.
We need anti-cheat software that just boots them from the game - over, and over - as many times as it takes for them to choose that they have better things to do with their time.
I'm not opposed to EAC or anticheat systems for games like this, the issue i see however is this will break compatibility for some things like steamplay, which might not be a issue if vulkan was ready.

I also use reshade.me for sharpening because the ingame TPS sharpener is OMFG GAIJIN ♥♥♥♥!

did you seriously just admit on the War thunder forums that you use a program to change the look of the game? top jej lmao, enjoy yer ban.
They say not to use sound mods either but plenty of yt'ers do.

Also if they ban my account they probably run up against some local laws which forces them to give me the $1000-2000 I've spent on the account since created.

Good luck collecting that. $2k is far too small to take legal action - unless you have a lawyer friend who will work pro bono.

Interesting about Aura & EAC. When I built this PC, I deliberately skipped installing Aura because the case is under my desk.

We have a few extra consumer laws here in Australia for software/game refunds. Also reshade sharpening (CAS etc) is hardly cheating.
This is so confusing! i thought there was no cheats for warthunder?
everytime anyone mention it its always the same responses.

"git gud"
"you are so high leveled you should know there are no cheats for warthunder"
"what do you call a cheater in warthunder?"
"there are no cheaters because gainjin ban them every month"
"just because they hit its not cheats"

where are those people hiding now?

But there literally are no cheaters, i've spent over 2200 hours of my life on this game, and have never seen one.
Typical I've never seen it so it doesn't exist response. They do exist you can go look at YouTube videos for proof. About 2 years ago I argued on here with about half the community that there were hackers in this game and I gave up trying to convince them too. They swore up and down that the games physics were too complex to make a hack. LOL what a bunch of nubs. They were probably the hackers to be honest. I have an Asus mobo and like I said I have never had a single issue with EAC in any game out of dozens that I have played..
Hack =/= Cheat, a "hack " is a cheat, but most cheats aren't hacks. Hacking is pretty much impossible due to how the game runs, but using 3rd party cheats is quite possible and people do it often enough to have a ~300 person ban list every other month (though quite a few of those are the same person with multiple accounts).

Messaggio originale di Mods_o_joy:
Easy Anticheat is a very bad Anti cheat system, Falsepositives out the anus, so much so that i've been banned for having Discord running at the same time as a game using it, The current system is fine as is, has a near 0 false positive rate, and doesnt require any outsourced software, and is just much cleaner.
Messaggio originale di Mods_o_joy:
Whatever you say, specific games i can name being Robocraft have lots of issues due to it, the game will autoexit for me if i leave certain applications (namely Davinci Resolve/Video Editor software and Discord), though it may just be a 'me' thing.
Robocraft being ♥♥♥♥ =/= EAC not working. That game drove itself off a cliff when it started catering to all the E-spurts wannabes that cried day in and day out for that 'competetive' 5v5 mode and cried for balance changes they wanted.

"Subjectively" =/= "objectively"
