No assist? (Air RB)
Happends every game: I get a hit (no crit) he get shot down by 1 or 2 friendlies, NO ASSIST?
I thought assist meant helping in killing an enemy?

It seems to bug out quite a bit
Scoring hits can get assist, but too long after and nothing
Same with crits which sometimes seem to last ages and sometimes bug out after a minute.

Ive hit a enemy just before(like seconds) an ally/squaddie. Got a assist for it, got nothing for it. With squaddie if got both aswell, but also managed to get an assist without supporting fire, an assist with supporting fire and nothing.
Same with critting an enemy tank, killing 2 crew and multiple mod damages and squaddie following up with a kill shot like 3 seconds later. Assist and supporting fire, just assist or just plain nothing.

We all know what is supposed to happen.
Crit = long timer - supporting fire and or assist.
Hit = smaller timer - supporting fire and or assist.

But in reality.
Hit or Crit. roll the dice SF and or Assist(when it should be both) but good chance on nothing.

I dont seem to have the luck you do where you say its pretty much always, but it happens enough to know its messed up.

You get an assist after a normal hit if the enemy dies within 30s. Critical hits last indefinitely for an assist to count.
ok, feels wierd in air rb with 30 seconds, since even a tiny hit can affect flight peformance a lot, which it did in my case (23mm frag round hit his wing and he got killed by teammate about a minute later)

Thats how it is supposed to work, it bugs out quite frequently for some people.

Worst part is this problem (be it an intentional clever trick that gaijin pulled or a genuine bug) has expanded to kills. I've had several occasions where the enemy, whom I crited (sometimes even set on fire) within the last 30 sec, crashes without giving me a kill or assist. The game just counts it as a crash, nothing more.

Though this has very little impact on the gameplay, it does make the grind significantly harder and more frustrating.

Bug/intentional downgrade of the assist system, its bad like this & was much better before this "update" when hits always granted tje assist.

kill & assist system been broken for a couple years now... for planes.

If u go in assault ground mode youll see the assists work normally in ground.

Wish devs played their game some to see the simple flaws that make players not wanna play anymore.

A shooter with rp progress....assists and kills are a pretty basic thing to be prioritized to fix but..yeah idk what to say, not worth getting pissed about so i rather still be on a long break until they prioritize polishing up and fixing these things.

Pretty sure a lot has been said about this issue in the official forum for the past few yrs (and I've been playing for all those yrs too). If the problem persists after so many yrs and so many discussion threads, perhaps we can infer that the issue we're having in air rb is not a bug but in fact an intentional "update feature."

I mean, look at this. The grind is too long as it is past rank iv - with rp reqs set so high it shows clearly they dont play their game.

It shows even more that they really dont when assists and kills not being awarded in air for what, going on 2 years now, and not a word on it.

Server issues + this stuff with kills and assists in air not awarded time and time again + nut grind requirements on tank v and vi...

Still not enough presets
Still no ec air - which they say they dont add cause there arent enough players?
Still resetting of the daily log in rewards for no reason which makes it unpleasant to log in.

First, there are enough players, thats bs. Could even be a weekend thing with ec.

Second, if that really was the problem, then fixing this stuff and play their own game for two weeks so that they see what easy qol updates and polishments should be done, the player count would rise much higher.

Its frustrating to see all this time being put to make events and stuff and neglect the obvious things that undoubtly would improve wt, get more players in, back & kept & be a win/win..

Oh this thread is from 2018 even, good bump, shows how odd the priorities are.

Even if they make bank on events and the market it is such bad business cause they would make so much more bank if they fixed these things first...

said it fifty times, this game is good and unique enough to have at least triple the playerbase. At least triple the potential customers. So to me, this shouldnt take years. (Yeah easy for me to say, what did i ever accomplish - what game did i ever make, what do i know - none & nothing that's what, i'll buck off now, maybe)

I get that in air a few minor hits may be iffy as to whether or not you deserve an assist, but if you get a crit it should "flag" it so that whenever that plane does get shot down you get an assist, whether its 5 seconds or 5 minutes later. Of course, safely landing and repairing should remove any of those "flags" on the plane.

Also, still need to fix ramming; one plane should not cut another in half and when they both die either give each kill credit on the other or neither gets kill credit. Currently, one player often gets a kill and for the other it counts as a crash, even if they both shot/didn't shoot each other.

Gaijin isnt competent enough to make the right decisions. Too greedy after all. Damn I didnt realize this thread's from 2 yrs ago lol (I just saw January and assumed it's recent). So as u said, rlly speaks to the persistence of this issue. The devs r likely more than capable of making this game much better than it is (like new game modes maybe? after all these yrs?), but it's the management that's been holding them back.

No imo it's not iffy, it's just more accurate in more situations when a hit grants an assist every time.

It might have drawn turretfire from an attacker or bomber that u both spent 3 minutes climbing for so a squad or teammate had an easier time of getting the job done.

It might have been forcing the enemy to evade and lose energy.

It might have been low dmg hits, but enough fire in the back and close on to make the enemy take hasty actions that were not good for his survival.

It might even have been a full blown 2 minute turnfight where a teammate swoops the kill on a completely stalled and distracted enemy yet still leaves u with nothing.

these things are just lowering the experience & quality of the game and the original assist system in this part that a hit always will grant the assist was way way better.

Lol. 😁 i do get pissed at this subject a tiny bit hahaha. I should go back to mind my business.

There is definitely something wrong, I often do crit damage to bombers and aircraft so bad that they immediately crash into the ground because they can't control their aircraft and it doesn't award ANYONE the kill. I've had this happen several times over the past 2 days so I wouldn't be surprised if similarly the game fails to award even an assist for other situations.

30s thing is no good either, cause a closefight turnfight can last longer than that and even for crits it wont always work.

I remember one time i flew some bomber in rb, luckily i shot 2 planes down but only got awarded one of the kills. One immediate, one crashed on the airfield a bit later cause he couldnt land due to the dmg (pilot pointed this out to me this himself that it should have been a kill, but again, just "crashed". And check out the youtube video i linked couple of posts up, how can that not be a kill?

It happened so many times with me getting killed too yet nothing awarded to the enemy, and i always said so... "report bug if u want, u should have gotten that kill but i just "crashed".

Ok now ill buck off.
