I heard that T20 was on of the best american premium tanks, so I bought it. After 3 hours of gameplay, my performance was no better than with any other american medium tank. So, my question is: How to play it?

That's a big exaggeration. It's a mini pershing with a 76mm - mobile, unremarkable armor, low profile, short-stop stabilizer. Flank with it and use the reverse speed and the stabilizer to quickly poke in and out of cover while shooting the enemy (remembering not to exceed 14-16km/h when poking out in order not to lose the stabilizer's effect). It's a well rounded and pleasing tank, but in no way the greatest US tank.

Don't ever believe the hype , I did with the m-18 that was a joke don't even use It.....They have this tank nerfed Into the dirt ........

I’m grateful and angry at the same time. It looks like I need to be more patient (I decided after 10 minutes). Well, it looks like i threw my 25$ into trash. Any way to regain my lost money? Or any nice 1-2 era tank?

M3 and M5 stuarts
M10 GMC
They're all plenty good.
At tier 3 you have the M4A2 too, that is amazing once you get the add-on armor and get used to the tank.

It was lot better at 5.0, gets uptiered lot more now after the BR raise because of the popular 6.3 and is not that well equipped to deal with it.

The T20 also got the frontal armor on it reduced to 63mm in the dev server.
So next update it might go down to 5.0 since it won't have the 76mm of frontal armor anymore.
