Which german premium destroyer ?

Right now I am very much into the WT ships thing after playing tanks and planes for ages, and I really want to play the heavy cruiser admiral hipper (and the battleships which I bet will come sooner or later). Therefore I m thinking one of the two premiums DDs for better grind and skipping one of the regular DDs (almost got 4 now, need 5 for tier IV).

So i d like some opinions on which to choose. Karl galster i surely better concerning AA, but more expensive as well. Thx in advance.

Imho, the Typ 1939 T31 is the better pick.

Yes, the Karl Falster is certainly better armed and more survivable due to the higher crew count. However that also means that it is sitting at 4.3, which means you get to fight against cruisers at 5.0 and 5.3 pretty often. And those just wipe the floor with destroyers, while being mostly impervious to their shots.

The T31 meanwhile cannot see cruisers at 3.7. At most it will see superior destroyers, but the powergap between those and the T31 is much smaller than that between any destroyer and cruiser. With the regular tech tree Typ 1939 and the K-2 you have two excellent ships to complete the lineup with.

Well u mentioned the K-2 as being excellent. I didnt even buy it cause of reading its crap, especially due to its poor speed. Havent tried it out thus far.....u think different obviously. May I ask why ? I might reconsider then. Thx

Kanonenboot K-2 spawns at the same spawn as the little ships, like letting a king tiger loose with reserve tanks..... one-shot pleasing for you, a major terror for them.

Oh, not at the DD spawn ?! Well thats a plus, speed is not too important then, at least not for getting into battle before match is over....will try this out then. Thx for the headsup !

Yeah not at dd spawn. have fun with it. I know i do. You will know the maps, that suit it, few don't as DD can see you at the start, just bring out another DD for them.

It had the DD spawn a while ago, but just like the German premium minelayer, it got moved to a boat spawn. Ever since that happened it does very well. Just don't go brawling with the little ones, hang back and use your superior range. And focus on removing enemy large vessels primarily, they are the biggest threat to you and your teammates. Only shoot small boats when they are about to torpedo you, about to cap a point or if there's nothing bigger in sight.

Pretty sure if they add Prinz Eugen, its GG to any Nation currently. I mean Hipper is already fked up with a BB gun on her to murder anyone.

Well, its a sister ship of the hipper, so prolly gonna be much the same. Looking more forward to pocket bs graf spee or of course the german battleships.

Actually Prinz is far more Heavily Armored than Hipper

Hey guys, thx for the hint with the K-2. It IS fun indeed !! Sweet brawler....gets torpedoed rather frequently due to bad manoeverability, but until then 2-3 little boats are reguraley gone. Sweet :)

the karl for sure, its freaking monster, it goes nearly 90kph in arcade battles and the german 128mms fire faster than any other nations gun of the same caliber anyway so it has the highest true dps of any dd (not counting those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ russian modern rapid fire boats)
