What Is Best Shell For KV-2

I'm trying to use KV-2 and it is a pain to use, I frontal pen two SdKfz 234 and it did not kill either one of them, all it had done was kill the driver. I dont know if its due to the round I'm using (PB-35) or is it just that Gaijin has a broken Hull Break system?

All derp vehicles use HE, unless the anti-concrete is somehow working on tanks. I haven't unlocked the KV-2, but you might wanna try it on test drive and see how it works compared to the others.

I don't have experience with the KV-2, but I'd imagine that you'd want to be using pure HE for such light targets. Given the similar caliber to the Sturmpanzer, that'd be my guess. I can't speak for heavier targets, mind, but again if the KV-2's HE load performs anything like the Sturmpanzers, you can probably even frag heavier targets with it as well.

Well I mainly want to use it against Pz IV and Shermans, I can easily side pen them, frontal is where the laughter ends.

If you like the way your PB-35 performs against hard targets frontally, then bring it by default. However, you'll want to bring at least 5 pure HE rounds for soft targets like armored cars or SPAA. It means 5 fewer PB-35 shells, but how often do you really go through your entire ammo load?

Currently I have 15 APCBC and 5 HE. SO yeah, and the highest amount i have used in a amtch is 11.

Use HE shells. It only says it penetrates 45mm armor but don't let that fool you. What happens when you shoot a HE is that the shockwave and fire blows out all the view ports of the enemy tank and kills the crew inside.

Use HE shells. It only says it penetrates 45mm armor but don't let that fool you. What happens when you shoot a HE is that the shockwave and fire blows out all the view ports of the enemy tank and kills the crew inside.

sometimes......very random now, if you want to fight a battle and hope you get lucky, good luck.

You can shoot a sherman in the face and kill it sometimes, other times it can take 3 shots, by then it or its mate has killed you.

What about dropping a shot under the belly instead of trying to rail it in the face?

Actually I used to use the Anti concrete rounds (since that was my only AP type ammunition) and they were useless. Ever since getting the PB-35, well using it against M4, PZ.IV and KV-1B series, it has been very successful so far, nearly every time I shoot at those, its a one shot wonder. However 'softer' targets have forced me to shoot my already loaded round (APCBC) then change to HE to finish it.

I just use pure HE, it at least does something even if it's just blowing out tracks and transmission.
Carrying multiple types of shells with KV-2 is such as hassle due to long reload.
Say you blow up Stug 3G with HE and decide to switch APHE since you saw glimpse of Panzer 4H just to be sure but just after you have reloaded Puma goes drifting by, you fire and and the APHE just kills the back driver and continues on its merry way, meanwhile you are back to reloading.

Yeah thats the huge problem using the KV-2, I tried to use HE once but not entirely sure on how to use it properly, even when I was lucky with my shot, it just did not do enough damage.

When I was using anti concrete, I struggled getting kills, the best I could get was an assist, may you mind explaining on how to use it efficiently?
