Why are Japanese planes so♥♥♥♥♥♥?
Japanese planes are terrible. Poor accuracy and slow FR. Out of all the planes, Japanese planes are the worst just like during ww2. Imo

1Vs1 at low altitud and at the same speed and lets see who wins, Japanese planes are deadly if u use it like they should. Yeah they are slow and fragile but they can fight any plane if a pilot starts turning with them. For the rest of planes, the ki 61/100s are great as well.

They are not the best but they are not the worst. Try those french planes and u may change your opinion

If you only started to play them, then yes. You will suffer till 3.3 br. Then you start to enjoy them.

american pilots with army planes keep turnfighting, which makes them easy to shoot down

if you are fighting naval planes you have to be a bit more carefull but still easy

errrr
KI-44-2 is one of if not the fastest plane under 3.3
A6M2 is basically the best dogfighter in tier
KI-43 is meme tier great
A7M is as good as a spit but faster
their heavy fighters in general are able to give a P-38 a decent challenge
KI-87 can equal a spit on a bad day

They're really good, and the only guns I can confidently kill people with (besides 50 cals of course). Believe it or not, Japan had some really good planes. Up until the end of 1942, Japan was unrivaled in the air because of the A6M Zero. They also had excellent end of war planes like the Ki-84 and N1K (both great planes in game too) with powerful armaments. The downside to Japanese planes is they're very lightly armored and cost a lot to repair. Other than that, they're pretty damn good. You just gotta get to tier 3 and from there it gets pretty good.

They're the best turn fighters in the game, but as you mentioned, they have low velocity cannons with low fire rates generaly, are extremley delicate, have no armor protection whatsoever on most aircraft, are relatively slow and they rip their wings pretty fast in dives.

Best way to use most japanese planes is to wait for someone to dive on you, evade (needs good timing) and try and lure them into a turn fight. Otherwise, if they play smart and there are more than one enemy targeting you, goodluck. You may be able to evade them initialy but chances are they will get you eventualy.

Spitfires are much better in most regards imo. They are good turners whilst most are still pretty fast, have decent climb rates and decent armerment so they can be used more like energy fighters if need be (they won't beat most german aircraft, however).

Then I guess I just suck with them cause I can do great with American and Russian planes but flying Japan is impossible for me. Even after using some of the tips here about using them the right way iut still doesnt work out for me. The Tank tree is worse but i feel Japan needs a complete overhaul of BRs

*laughes in winning a 1 vs 5 in the A6M2*

Japanese planes aren't bad, just gotta learn to fly them and not get hit.

I know right I am doing naval battles and oh I love the Jappanese planes for that, only close competitor is us Naval bombers, but they still manuver worse at low alt, but in naval battles there is no climibing to 3k+ meters its all down low combat lol

Hello, necro.
You can always unsub from discussion. Its better then me opening yet another discussion about the same thing adding to the 100s already out there. On any other platform but Steam I would say you have every right to call me out on it but not on here. The way things are set up its more polite to necro then open another discussion. Oh and you can always UNSUB!

The japanese doctrine for fighter dictated for agility, speed and firepower. For this they had to save weight on several other components. Survivability was not a priority. For instance, the fuel tanks on those planes are NOT self-sealing, which means that, once ignited, the fire will consume the whole fuel tank, along with the plane (while spreading through the aircraft). The A6M series is a prime example of this doctrine applied. Just remember to lure the enemy into a turnfight and avoid it's fire.

The fact that all Japanese planes were terrible in WW2 was a myth.

Japanese had some good designs, sometimes they are world class among their class but they usually deployed them in small quantity or didn't see combat at all.

Products like Ki-84, N1K2 are world class, up there with later versions of Yak-3, F6F and F4Us etc.

Ki-87 is Japan's answer to the P-47 (actually a B-29 interceptor), a heavy ass aircrat with powerful armament and heavy engine.

Then you have the kikka jet fighters, which would likely face F8F reality

Also pretty good carrier planes, and jet bomber proposals that never seen combat

The non self sealing fuel tanks is only for early war planes. Late war A6M has actually more thicker armour than the P-47. Why the P-47 doesn't die that easily you ask? Is because they are more sturdier built.

Another factor that isn't translated well into the game is range. The A6M had incredible range and agility but it needed to be very light hence the mentioned drawbacks above.
