Is the Germany Suffers Meme Real?

I rarely ever played Germany until I decided to grind it again with my Russia WT account (for some reason as an early player I created a new account for each tree, don't ask questions).

And I sucked
Sure I scraped 1/2 kills per tank at low tier, but I felt like I could be doing a lot better. A lot of the deaths I had were embarrassingly lame and I couldn't figure out whether I was having a recession or it was the tanks' fault themselves.

Then the Chinese tree was opened to the general playerbase and I was doing great.
I was really surprised at the ease with which I was getting 6-8 kill games. I don't know how I am able to say this, but maybe Germany really does suffer?

about what I think of the whole Japanese tree.
They start seeming passable or even good if you play nothing but Japan, until you get a perspective on what every other nation has at the same BR and you realize that they have nothing going for them and you're just constantly seeing better tanks being used poorly.

When i saw the thread i was expecting echos of every other poor germany thread.

Depends, at 5.7-6.7 it REALLY suffers, the tiger series is tragic, the td:s are great up to ferdi, they are overall, slow, heavy and huge targets... yeah.
Also the teams seem to be completly braindead but funny that when germany and russia team up, they are a powerhouse Because the russians can handle close ranges and germany can snipe at longer ranges.
If you have ever played mid tier germany alone against all the allies, you know what they mean by suffering (mid tier is so bad that i grind my tanks with 9.0 heli because its actually fair, my Panther 2 dominates there)

Some of the things I did as a noob are pretty funny looking back. When I realised what I had done, I gave all my extra accounts to friends and siblings

those 7.0 post WW2 but still kind of that WW2 'era' designs really are some of the most versatile vehicles in the game
