Is the DO 335 B2 worth it?
Im considering buying it on the sale for ground pounding. Its seems pretty strong from the stats alone.

Is a flying brick: excels at intercepting bombers and ground-poundering but still is a flying [fast] brick.

So it gets rekt by fighters but is great for tank RB?

Not really: has fast acceleration to chiken its way out. Just don't and never turn-fight any fighter.

Yeah that was my intention. I was just suspicious that the do 335 had some kind of terrible drawback that i was missing.

Well, it does as told you is a hit-n-run tactic against other planes, but as long as your team has aerial superiority, you should be fine.

Depends, if you plane on playing Air RB be prepaired to do nothing but bomber hunting and playing support, turning is a giant no no. However this plane is very good in RB GF. I take this in my Tier III - V lineups. The 30mm with HVAP shred through the top of tanks.

As owner here are all drawback I noticed on this plane :

-Low acceleration (jet like)

-Lowest climb rate with 11mps compare this to a heavy bomber its pretty close to each other, wheras all fighter have a nice 15-20mps climb rate

-Incacurate guns due to wing mounted weaponary configuration, wich also have enough recoil to make you deccelerate on WEP

-Extreme drag due to pull-push props configuration, you gonna bleed energy like you had permanent airbreaks deployed at 40%

-B&Z tactic aren't viable as you can't aim nor can maintain enough energy to reach your old alt back

-Near total tail control lock past 500kmh

-Unable to fly without one engine, you can stay airborn longer than a single prop fighter but you will need to land pretty soon

-Max speed is locked at about 500kmh in level flight until you hit alt of +2.5km, any opposition you will face reach speed of 620kmh at the same alt with no difficulty

-Lack of bombsight aim make bomb payload totaly worthless until you like lawnmowing with AAA

In other words it escels at GF RB but doesn't do quite well at Air RB...

In other word it suck at everything that isn't shooting bomber the size of a country
Donovar Dec 26, 2016 @ 10:36am
load 30mm HE, kill every enemy bomber in a couple bursts, profit

In my opinion you should buy he219 if you need a good ground pounder or interceptor. Do 335 used to be good attacker until gaijin removed its combat flaps and bombing reticle. I stopped using pfeil since uhu appeared in game, which is overall better.
Also he219 is a nice heavy fighter for bnz.

Being that most people agree that it is a very fast brick, is it safe to assume it's a pure BnZ?
