BT-5 or Tetrarch
Planes: I-15 & I-152 Chaika.
Germany is quite fun too, nimble, decent firepower, bit of an all rounded. Americans are very fast but do lack decent firepower for a while, their MGs are good for fighters but limited usage against bombers.
♥♥♥ planes, well ♥♥♥ planes are my favourite (im one of the few lol). You have no armour (Whcih you dont need), Weak long range weapons (which you dont need) and not so great plane speed(whcih you dont need). What you do have are the BEST stealth rounds for killing planes and a turn rate that can give biplanes a run for their money. But starting ♥♥♥ is very hard as their firepower is almost neglible.
Tanks side of it, Brits start with fast tanks, Amazing early gun but little armor
Germans have fast, penetrating weapons but low dmg, decent armor.
Russians have pretty much everything, because gajin >_> But also historcially (since WT cant emulate these tanks breaking down, they all are perfect)
American tanks are fast, agile and okish weaponry but pretty poor armor.
♥♥♥ tanks, i havent tried yet but do not expect to use mass tank tactics with them.
But these issues make japanese tanks unplayable for new players:
1. Extremely low velocity shots that you need to arc... alot. Its like a catapult (a bit of a exaggeration, but my point stands)
2. Very low accuracy, shots you would normally make with pinpoint accuracy with other nation's 37/45mm cannons would miss. Japanese tanks have the accuracy of a pistol.
3. No armor (Heavy Machine guns can penatrate armor with ease)
4. Bad mobility. Now, its as good as a Pz .35t or some medium tanks, but this is unnaceptable. Japanese tanks were designed for speed, but they are not fast at all. American light tanks run circles around them, and they have better armor, gun, and speed.
What I recommend for ground vehicles:
Go with the germans. They have the most beginner friendly low-tier vehicles. Great ammo, and their shells have explosive filler. (Avoid APCR ammo).
Go for the Pz. IVs, their 75mm gun at the tier absolutly destroys anything at its battle-rating.
Next, go for the flakpanzer/geopard. While these vehicles have virtually no armor, the first modification you need to go for is HVAP ammo. This allows you to penatrate tank armor with its 20mm autocannon.
So much wrong info everywhere, I don't even where to begin.
I say
best starter planes = BRITISH
best starter tanks = German
Remember, you start and level up...at some point it's more important if the rest of the tech tree is worth it really. And German tanks and British planes are so far the best and most effective I have used in this game. Tiger & spitfire line all the way.
