You must be dumb. They are used to hide WEAKSPOTS, not the initial vehicle itself. Place a few bushes(Which you can earn from the WB shop for free, before you call it P2W) on your MG port and your Jumbo is literally invincible.
Yeah, they don't hide anythi-

i never had any trouble shooting at weakspots behind bushes
Jokes aside,
Earnable or not, bushes are objectively pay2win (and so are most things in WT, significant or not) because you can just buy your way through a several months long grind.
Think about it, if skipping progress wasn't pay2win, then EA wouldn't have gotten such massive backlash for Battlefront 2.
That's fairly immature, screaming that the game is pay to win thanks to a bunch of bushes and then that the whole game is in general.
Of course it's going to have some stuff you can pay for, but majority of the stuff you can get for free if you grind (Minus premiums, those are more of interesting features and misc tanks). You're not forced to spend money on it, it's all optional.
Not only that, but the game is free. Believe it or not, they are a corporation with the goal of making money. They need to turn a profit and pay to keep the servers running, so why not add some features that require money? Premiums and cosmetics is one such thing, which leads me to the main subject:
Bushes.
They're not P2W. Usually, people tend to whine on and on about them because they have been killed by a player hiding in vegetation - these people tend to be so unobservant to the point that many have been able to just hide behind a bin in the shade and watch them roll by. Anyone can do this, as well. Which can be a pain to the untrained eye as a T-34 hiding behind a bunch of bushes can absolutely decimate a team, and this is fair as he took time to decide that would be the best position. Good for him, bad for the team for not realizing and destroying him before he hid himself.
The fact is, they are very much ineffective at what they do. As @Pizza_f0r_l1f3 said "actually bushes are only useful if its stationary and near a lot of vegetation. If its not stationary than you can spot it easily in rb because its like a big moving plant" (thanks for the quote). They can't be used on urban maps (Berlin as a example) thanks to the colour scheme of them and how they stick out.
Now, you maybe saying "But I've been killed so many times by players with them! They are OP!!!11!!!". Please, go chug some bleach and come back after getting common sense. The same situation happens to us all, either because we are looking at the complete opposite direction because you're not sure if that Panzer 4 is still there or because the vegetation is that dense.
So, what's a good counter? Hide! That's it. Just find some cover and wait, they will get bored and should start to move up and whilst they are in the open, hit them were it hurts and kill them. Another tactic is to simply beat them in there own game, flank around and hit them in the rear. The usual culprits are assault guns (StuG's and ASU-57's) and tanks that are more long range (Tiger II, I think? I don't really see many people do it in the rank I play at).
I hope this sums it up. It maybe low quality but eeehhhh, I don't care. I just wanted to put it out there, along with my opinion.
Just be glad that Gajin take time to read our comments and care about the game. They deserve the money as they are making a hell of a game that requires time and dedication to make.
Lol. Classing amBUSH there.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!
Yeah, the book is called "How to tell people that common sense is needed more often in the world so others don't buy EA games". A cancerous good read.
Jokes aside, I just wanted to get my opinion and arguements out. At least I attempted to point out the motives of Gaijin adding some paywalls on specific vehicles and the bushes. I do want to point out though that one can justify microtransactions on certain games, like War Thunder; anything free. I did state it before and I won't state it again. All I will say is that it survives off of it.
So moving onto a poor example of micro-transactions in games: EA games and phone games, or as they are called, Pay 2 Win. A prime example of stupidity in the Gaming industry. A case of "Oh, so you brought the game? Well, to progress you need to pay us money otherwise you will fail. OR you could pre-order it for +$/£100 and get useless over-priced tat with it". This stuff makes the Gaming industry look bad. What makes it worse though? DLC. Triple A game developers tend to cut out vital sections of games to sell later on. Worse case scenario it's the same price as the game. Best case it's like Rockstar are doing and selling it for free. Moving back closer to home, I feel that it is justified in War Thunder as I would expect that majority of the money made goes to keeping the servers up and maintainance. You may say I am incorrect, in which case I would say "Yeah, I likely am" before smashing my head into my desk.
I'm going to just leave this off by saying that's a hard one to crack. They could be stashing it for a later date or they could be investing. If I recall, Gaijin is made up of around 30-40 workers (I'm not sure), so I doubt it goes into wages. All that can be done is to wait until they either come out and tell us (Not sure if they have, if so, I've missed it) or for someone to make a estimate on it all. Doubt either of the two will happen. There is also the possiblity they may do another Q&A with one of the companies top-brass.
What am I doing with my life? Yeah, I pretty much am being generic.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
