A tried and true strategy is to climb to a high altitude above your enemies and dive down onto them. Usually from behind or the side. This helps you build up speed for an attack and maintain that speed to climb back up to high altitude and out of danger. TL;DR, climb high, dive, strafe them, and use your momentum from the dive to climb again. This will allow you to do many diving attacks using your Spitfire's speed to its fullest potential. Turn and weave as much as you like but make sure to maintain the dive arc for your ascent back to a highter altitude.
If attacking isn't your ideal strategy then I also recommend this fighter to a support role. Cover your slower teammates and provide fire support once needed. I find that a team who can support role properly, will almost always win.
This fighter's strong points are good climbing speed, decent dive attack speed, and decent firepower. From personal experience, putting those 3 strengths into practice will unlock the full potential of this awesome fighter. Good hunting, pilot!
