la-5fn vs p-47d

I am talking about the german ones. I can buy them for almost the same price and I'll mostly use them in tank RB. Which one would you buy?

la5 is for shooting at planes and having fun, and p47 is for grinding to mow ground targets

Get the P-47. It's far cheaper and has just as good fighter capabilities, especially with German teams.

I can buy the la5 for 1313GE (75% off coupon) and p47 for 1300GE, that's why I am asking. Consdering that I can buy either for this amount, would you still buy the p-47?

The German P-47 or "Hitlerbolt" sits at 2.7 in AB and 3.7 in RB. If you want some maaaaaaaaaaad clubbing games, get the Hitlerbolt and play it in AB. It makes some serious SL and is great for easy research. Play it as classic B and Z in AB if that is your thing.

I don't have a whole lot of experience with Russian fighters, the German La-5 included. I can tell you though, the Hitlerbolt is worth every eagle.

The La-5 is a trully excellent fighter, far better then the P-47D. However the 47 is so massively undertiered like others mentioned. If you wanna dogfight get the La-5, if you wanna seal club baby seals in AB and make a huge profit then get the 47.

You should make lineups by BR, not tier, and there is no problem to fit it into a 2.7 lineup, even 2.3 if you want to downtier it.

I am not looking to research planes, farm SL or play air AB with them. As I stated in the thread, I just want to buy one of them for tank RB to see how other nations are (since I only played Germany). Lineups are not a problem since I already own all the vehicles at their BR.

Only if you're looking to research planes, which most people probably want to do, going by BR gives you a lot of planes that are really ineffective at researching.

Pesronally I don't currently research anything, but I did most of my research in AB, and full lineups.

In the case of the german P-47 it's a bit extreme, but it's still better to have a full lineup and help to win than just bring one plane and drop out as soon as you get shot down (as quite a few ppl actually do). Even if the research with tier 1 and 2 vehicles towards tier 4 will be suboptimal, if they help win they help obtain a nice RP & SL bonus which also goes on the P-47.

I just find 1 vehicle lineups in AB rather unacceptable, I usually check lineups at start, if I see a guy on the other team with 1 or 2 vehicles he'll be my priority target, just to have the opponent one player down. If someone wants to play a single plane, RB is the way to go.

For tank RB neither of them is really good since they are pure fighters, not really good for CAS.
