Honestly it's part of the reason I wish that EC proposal was being worked on. 2 week EC match with several hundred players, planetside style, with full combined arms would make artillery vehicles much more useful since you could easily provide fire support from over 4 km away with some vehicles that fire just straight HE. All you'd need is the ability to actually range the target with those weapons quickly. A deployable range finder isn't that far fetched when the Germans and Americans both carried them for artillery spotting during ww2.

This is what 2.1 should have been tbh.
Anyways, actually helping Op here now. Go into settings, you'll find that there is a drop down for a mouse wheel bind. By default it is set to camera position, change it to gun elevation and you'll be able to adjust your guns elevation without moving the sniper view up into the sky. This can help with much lower velocity guns that have trouble firing past 400 yards.
