50cals vs Mg 151
Is it me or do anyone else finds that the 6 x 50cals have more firepower compared to the BF109 1 x 20mm mg 151.

Of course 6x 50cals is more powerful than one 20mm, you've got more guns dishing out damage at a faster rate of fire, especially with the MG buff a little while ago.

I pretty much always take gunpods on my 109s if I can, I need at-least 2 cannons at anything above 2.7 BR to do any proper damage quickly.

I played realistic in air battles but i don't seems to see anyone using cannons add on on a bf109?

People usually use the gun pods

Stating the obvious aren't you?

The BF 109 F2 has a 1s burst mass of 1.2kg with 1x MG151 and 2x MG17
Most x6 M2 Brownings have between 3.2kg and 3.3kg 1s burst mass

When you are throwing nearly three times as much ammunition by weight you're going to have more of an effect.

alright i didn't think about that, i always thought that the MG151 is better than the 50cals.

The 15mm is garbage, it has a rather impressive AP round though (not exactly sure why it's so good) so you can go tank hunting with it.

It has a high MV; decent mass but not enough to slow it down much. It hits a good balance between velocity and mass; which gives it a surprising amount of penetration.

I doubt that in practice. I find the single MG 151 20mm on the Bf 109 F-4 works wonders with the Air Targets belt on anything I shoot. Takes only a quick burst to cut a wing off rather than half my ammo supply with .50 cals.

Dunno if you've played with 50cals since the MG buff but now it only takes 100-200 rounds to down a plane if you're accurate enough.

Exactly, its the other way around now where you have to empty half of your cannon supply to kill a plane with the MG151 as the "air target round is harder to shoot" while the 50cals takes 100 - 200 ammo supply to kill a plane, sometimes a short burst on the right spot can do some nice crit hits.
